Summer Love
Poetry cycle - My Teenage Years. Poetry I wrote in high school. You never know about a summer love…
We sailed toward the sun
We tried to touch the mountain tops
You kidded me and said you’d always stay
I held your hand
Trusting you.
We walked fields of green
And sand of gold.
The skies were blue
Love was ours.
You told me you’d be mine forever
Although I knew you couldn’t stay
I stood beside you
Still trusting you.
We tried to touch the mountain tops
You kidded me and said you’d always stay
I held your hand
Trusting you.
We walked fields of green
And sand of gold.
The skies were blue
Love was ours.
You told me you’d be mine forever
Although I knew you couldn’t stay
I stood beside you
Still trusting you.
