Summer Childhood

Summer is the greatest time for kids
Summer Childhood
Just think of all the fun we had
Happiness beneath the sun.
Ocean waves and golden sand
Making us so glad.

Buckets and shovels
Sand castles and shells.
Days of deep blue skies
And nights of a million stars.

A summer of drifting and playing
Of lazy, hazy days
Laughter and memories
Strawberries and cream.

Just think of all the fun we had
Nothing in childhood could be bad.
Next time you see a toddler
Of three or four
Remember and smile
Then drift awhile....
