Summer 19

Emma, Vanessa, Nicole, Daniel, Rico, Matt, Christine, Hadey and Sabrina with Mr. and Mrs. Jacobe watched the place in the balcony in Emma, Vanessa and Nicole’s bedroom.

"Oh my God. Look at our resort, seaweeds are all around and the pool and the hall and last, the fences all over the houses are fallen down", Mr. Jacobe said worrying as they all watched the place which was like a hundreds trucks swept the place.

"Don’t worry dad, it’s gonna be alright. We’ll help you", Nicole said comfortably.

"Come on, let’s go down and have breakfast. I’ll make something to eat", Mrs. Jacobe said. Emma, Vanessa, Nicole, Daniel, Rico, Matt, Christine, Hadey and Sabrina with Mr. and Mrs. Jacobe on their back all went down to eat breakfast. As they reached the dining table, they all sat around the round table while Mrs. Jacobe prepared food for breakfast. All of them were silent, only the sound of the food that Mrs. Jacobe cooking, until Mrs. Jacobe spoke that broke the silent.

"Hey, guys. Stop worrying about the resort. We’ll work this thing around. We all will help, right", Mrs. Jacobe said.

"Mums right, dad. We shouldn’t worry about this little thing. Like I said twice, we’ll help in cleaning this place", Nicole said soothingly.

"It’s true Mr. Jacobe, we’ll help you", Vanessa said.

"Thanks guys", Mr. Jacobe said and after that they started eating like they didn’t have that kind of conversation. I mean, they’re all happy and all they did was laugh while eating.

That afternoon, Daniel and Emma were walking heading to entrance, where they will meet Mr. and Mrs. Summer with Richard. Suddenly, without expecting it, Daniel saw her ex-girlfriend with her three friends entering the entrance door.

"Uh-oh, Emma, can we go back to the house", Daniel said.

"Why? Dad said they’re coming now", Emma asked out of curiosity.

"Daniel!"

"That’s why", Daniel said as the girl headed in their way.

"Who’s her", Emma asked.

"She’s my ex-girlfriend. She’s so annoying. When I’m still in America, she kept flirting in me, hoping to make her my girlfriend again", Daniel said before the girl reached them. The three girls who accompanied her remained in the entrance hall where the cashier was.

"Hi, Daniel", the girl who’s Daniel’s ex-girlfriend greeted as she kissed Daniel in the cheeks then hugged him. Daniel pulled her away from him.

"What’re you doing here", Daniel asked.

"I flew over here just to see you again", the girl said.

"You flew over here just to see him again, how sweet", Emma said sarcastically.

"Yes and who are you", the girl asked.

"Dan, I think we need introduction", Emma said annoyingly.

"Uhm, Noel, this is Emma – my girlfriend", Daniel said proudly.

"Nice to meet you", Emma said as she reached her hand o shake her hand.

"Nice to meet you too", Noel said as she ignored Emma’s hand. Emma put her hand down.

"Who told you I was here", Daniel asked.

"I called your mum and she said that you are here in London and she gave me the number in your grandmother’s house. I called there and your grandmother said that you are here in this resort so I decided to go here", Noel said sweetly. Daniel and Emma exchange looks and fell silent.

"Daniel, can you help me find my cabin", Noel asked.

"I can’t. Em’s parents and her brother are coming here so I have to stay with her here and wait for her parents and her brother. Her parents and her brother are not familiar here. See you later", Daniel said. He held Emma’s hand and led her to the entrance hall.

"C’mon girls", they heard Noel said this.

"So you’re going to see her later", Emma asked.

"Yes, I mean, no I mean, I don’t know. If I’ll go on her way", Daniel said.

"Wait, are you jealous", Daniel asked.

"I’m not jealous. I’m just afraid", Emma said honestly.

"Afraid of what", Daniel continued to ask.

"I’m afraid that you will leave me and replace me with that Noel", Emma said.

"Why would I replace you", Daniel asked again.

"How many years did you last", Emma asked.

"4 months", Daniel said.

"It’s not that much long but at least you’ve been together. You’ve had experience together and we didn’t have", Emma said.

"But I still want you. That’s why I broke up with her because I like you more than any other girl that I met. She was the first and the last girlfriend I’ve ever had", Daniel said.

"Emma!"

A shout from Richard, Emma’s brother, broke the conversation. Emma and Daniel turned to look who had shouted. When Emma saw her brother, her mum and her dad, she smiled happily, ran towards her brother and hugged him almost knocking him off.

"I missed you", Emma said as she let go of Richard.

"I missed you too", Richard said.

"Mum, dad", Emma said as she hugged the both of them.

"I’m so happy that you’re already here", Emma told her mum, dad and Richard.

Daniel was watching them from the distance and was happy to see Emma very happy, longing to see and hug her parents and her brother. Seeing Emma happy makes him happy too. Emma together with her parents and Richard were heading to where Daniel is standing.

"Dad, do you still remember Daniel", Emma asked her parents and linked her fingers into Daniel’s secretly.

"Yes and why are those hands holding", Mr. Summer as when he saw Emma and Daniel held hands. Emma and Daniel just smiled and then Mr. and Mrs. Summer smiled too.

"Okay, I know. Just take care of yourselves. Oh and Emma, can you help us find our cabin", Mr. Summer asked.

"Sure, count on me. I had memorized this place so much. Follow me", Emma said as she and Daniel led the way to her parents’ cabin. When they arrived at the cabin where her parents will be staying, they saw Noel with her three friends on the other cabin next to Mr. and Mrs. and Richard’s cabin. Daniel immediately turned around and Emma understood it.

"Mum, dad, can we go now and Richard, can you go with us", Emma asked her parents and Richard.

"Okay", Mrs. Summer and Richard said at the same time. Emma and Daniel with Richard headed to the hall where Vanessa, Nicole, Rico, Matt, Christine, Hadey and Sabrina along with the staff were cleaning.

"Oh thank God, Emma and Daniel is here", Sabrina said. Sabrina was amazed when she saw Richard’s eyes were fixed upon her.

He’s familiar, Sabrina thought.

She’s familiar, Richard thought at the very same time.

"Richard", Sabrina said.

"Sabrina", Richard said.

"Why are you here", Sabrina and Richard asked at the very same time.

"You knew each other? How? When? Where", Emma asked continuously and curiously.

"Yes", Sabrina and Richard said in unison happily.

"When my mum and dad transferred me to Oxford, I was in the same school with him. He was the first who greeted me in the classroom and we became friends", Sabrina said.

"Actually, I became her best friend", Richard said. Sabrina punched him in the arms.

"Ow", Richard shouted.

"I introduced her to my other friends and other classmates and then she became one of my friends until she went back here in London", Richard said as he massaged the arm where Sabrina had punched him.

"Sabrina, he’s the one I’m referring to", Emma said.

"What", Sabrina and Richard asked.

"No, no, no, no, no. I will not do it", Sabrina said as she shook her head and gestured her arms with a big X.

"Why", Emma asked. Sabrina dragged her away from them.

"I know his foolishness and I can’t live one single day with him", Sabrina said. Emma understood but still she wants her to try. Sabrina saw Emma’s disappointed face so she breathes deeply.

"Okay, I’m going to try", Sabrina said.

"Thanks", Emma said.

"I’m not doing this because I like him. I’m just doing this to make up with you. There’s so many things I had said to you that made you hurt, so I want to make up with you", Sabrina said.

"Thanks, again", Emma said after a few silence. The two went back to help the others.

"What are you two talking about", Richard asked Emma.

"Nothing", Emma and Sabrina said at the same time. Obviously, Sabrina was afraid that Emma would say the truth.

Emma, Daniel and Richard helped the others.

Emma, Daniel, Vanessa, Rico, Nicole, Matt, Christine, Hadey, Sabrina and Richard went to the resort’s restaurant. When they arrived there, they found Mr. and Mrs, Jacobe eating with Mr. and Mrs. Summer.

"Hi dad, hi mum". Emma greeted her mum and dad as she kissed them in the cheeks.

"Hi Mrs. Jacobe, hi Mr. Jacobe", Emma as well as the others greeted Mr. and Mrs. Jacobe.

"Is this Richard", Mr. Jacobe asked.

"Yes", Mr. Summer said.

"When I last saw you, you were still 14 years old and now you’re – big", Mr. Jacobe said while patting his shoulder heavily.

"Just order anything you want, it’s free", Mr. Jacobe then said.

"Okay dad", Nicole said.

Emma and Daniel together with Vanessa, Nicole, Rico, Matt, Christine, Hadey, Sabrina and Richard sat at the next table nest to the table where Mr. and Mrs. Jacobe with Mr. and Mrs. Summer were sitting.

All of them planned for tomorrow. Where they would continue to clean the hall and help to make the fences stand again. Then clean the swimming pool.
