Summer 11

While Mr. and Mrs. Jacobe already finished, they left the gang laughing while eating. Emma and Daniel reach their hands to the ladle of the soup at the same time while not watching what they’re doing and Daniel accidentally touched Emma’s hand. They stared at each other for a long time and they’re hands did not move.

"Oh, Uhm, you go first", Emma asked as she took her hand off of the serving spoon.

"No, you first", Daniel said as took his too. Emma reached at the ladle once more and put soup on her small bowl. After that Daniel reached for it and done the same thing. They’re lucky that Sabrina wasn’t watching them for being busy in laughing at Matt’s joke. Rico and Vanessa kept silent. Daniel and Emma now are avoiding each other’s eyes even Sabrina was not watching them. Among the nine, Christine, Hadey and Sabrina finished first and headed upstairs to their room leaving Nicole, Vanessa, Emma, Matt, Rico and Daniel in the dining room.

"What’s wrong about you two? Yesterday you are noisy and now you’re quiet", Nicole asked. Daniel and Emma turned to face their friends Rico and Vanessa at each of their sides.

"Huh", Rico asked.

"Nothing. I’m full", Vanessa said then she went to the sink and put her empty plate. She went outside then after a second Rico followed her outside.

"What’s your problem with me", Rico asked Vanessa as he grabbed Vanessa left hand.

"I’m jealous of Christine", Vanessa blurted out loudly.

"What", Rico asked half-laughing.

"Oh no", Vanessa said blushing and felt nervous.

"No, what did you just say? You’re jealous with Christine? We don’t have any relationship. We’re just friends", Rico explained half-laughing.

Vanessa felt silly and bowed down her head. Rico touched her cheeks while Vanessa faced him. Rico kissed her in the lips.

"It’s you that I liked", Rico said after kissing her. Vanessa seems stunned. Rico smiled.

"I’m saying the truth. It’s you that I liked, not Christine", Rico said. Vanessa smiled and together they walked at the seashore. Rico held Vanessa’s hand while walking.

"I was never expecting you to like me", Vanessa said.

"But I did", Rico said -laughing. They were so happy that they were together.

Back at the house, Emma, Daniel, Nicole and Matt finished eating and went outside. They saw Vanessa and Rico walking and heading back together while they’re hands so they walk hurriedly towards them.

They headed at the house and went directly to their respective rooms. Emma, Vanessa and Nicole went to their room while Daniel, Rico ad Matt went to theirs.

Inside the girl’s room, the girls were unpacking their things and put it in the three small closets standing in the left side of the room. Vanessa was silent but smiling.

"What happened with you and Rico", Nicole asked as she put a pile of blouses on her closet. Vanessa just smiled.

"Are you together", Emma asked as she did what Nicole did a while ago. Vanessa nodded. Emma and Nicole faced each other and squealed in excitement.

"How", Emma and Nicole asked in unison.

Emma, Vanessa and Nicole sat around Vanessa’s bed while Vanessa told them the whole story.

"He actually kissed you in the lips before telling you that he liked you", Nicole asked with great amazement. Vanessa nodded.

"How about Christine", Emma asked. Suddenly they heard a knock on the door. The three of them stopped to look at the door and it opened. Christine appeared in the open door.

"Vanessa, can we talk for a second", Christine said. Vanessa and Christine went to the balcony and closed the door.

"Rico told everything me that happened to you two and I think you heard me wrong a while ago", Christine said half-laughing. Vanessa kept silent while looking at her.

"When I said boy-friend, I didn’t mean a boyfriend – ", Christine explained but stopped when Vanessa interrupted.

"I know. I was being stupid. Is Rico mad at you", Vanessa asked sadly.

"No. I explained it to him and he understood", Christine said. "All I can say is, I’m happy for you two and I hope that you’ll stay together longer", Christine added happily and hugged Vanessa. Vanessa was amazed and they went inside. Christine sat with the girls in Vanessa’s bed and after a few seconds, Hadey went inside and joined the girls.

"I’ve been looking all over our room for you", Hadey told Christine.

"Where’s Sabrina", Christine asked after Hadey sat in the bed.

"She went out for a second and didn’t come back afterwards", Hadey said.

"I hope you don’t feel bad about this, does Sabrina said bad things about me", Emma asked Christine and Hadey.

"Nothing. She’s afraid that we will tell you", Christine said half-laughing.

"Yeah, nothing at all", Hadey added. The two lied so that Emma will not be hurt and Emma eyed them suspiciously.

"Okay, okay", Christine and Hadey said at the same time. The two of them told Emma everything bad about her Sabrina said.

"And that’s all", Hadey said after telling all. Vanessa and Nicole were burning in anger because Sabrina said something bad about them. Emma was now hurt and mad. She felt like she wants to lunged at Christine, Hadey and Sabrina’s room and slapped Sabrina’s face a hundred times or more than. Emma’s eyes were now wet with tears but tears were not falling down.

"Are you okay, Emma", Christine asked Emma while Emma’s thought fade away.

"I’m fine", Emma lied then she stood up and headed to the door.

"Where’re you going", Vanessa asked.

"I’m going to get some air", Emma said as she grabbed her denim jacket and went outside. Emma was standing in the golf course watching the sun set while glimmering in the sea.
