Sudoku Rules
Let us try to understand the format of a sudoku puzzle. The sudoku puzzle can be considered as a 9X9 matrix, divided into nine 3X3 matrices. Well, don't worry, you don't have to go into the complication of matrix problems for solving a sudoku puzzle. It is just the easiest way of describing it. There will be some pre-filled numbers. These numbers are the clues on the basis of which you proceed on to solve the puzzles. The rules are simple. You have to use the numbers from 1 to 9 and each row and each column in the 9X9 matrix, should contain each number just once. Each number should also appear just once in the 3X3 matrices. If you are a beginner, you must be wondering how tough can that be. Well, let me tell you, these many rules are enough to baffle anyone's thought process. Sudoku Tips for Beginners
If you are a beginner, better pick up a puzzle with lots of numbers inserted before hand. Start off with comparing three matrices in a row or column. If in case you find a number present in two of the cells and absent in one of the cells, then it must hold a place in that row or column in that cell which does not have that number in the respective row or column. Well, that's simple enough and of course, you must already have figured out that its the easiest way for starting off with your puzzle. After you are done with all the three cell combinations, simply shift over to individual rows and columns. Check out the number missing in each row and column. Find out the possible locations where it can exist. These were the simplest sudoku tips for beginners. What I have explained here are the sudoku tips and strategies that can be used by beginners for trying out there hands in this game. Sudoku Tips and Techniques
Without wasting any more time, let us get into the sudoku tips and techniques. We will be precisely dealing with the situation wherein we find out that there is no way to proceed in solving the puzzle. Well, there is always a way out. The main problem lies in the fact that we put too much stress in our minds trying to remember the possible locations of the numbers. Suppose we have three cells and we find out that one of them can hold the numbers, 2 or 5, one can hold 2 or 7 and the last can hold only 7, then all the three cells are solved. The last cell will of course hold the number 7 and hence the second cell will hold the number 2. Obviously, the first cell will hold the number 5 then. The problem may become difficult for you if you do not write down the possible numbers in each cell. Simply writing down the possible numbers in their respective cells can let you out of the confusion and help you in the problem solving. Now, let us consider another condition. Suppose there are three cells with the possibilities (2,5,3), (2,5) and (2,5), respectively. If you write down the possibilities then it becomes evident that at least the first cell should have the number 3, hence leaving just two cells undefined. Now suppose in the same problem you have two more possibilities, (2,6) and (6,7) in two different cells, then you will obviously have 7 in the last cell and 6 in the second last cell. Thus, merely writing down the possible numbers in their respective cells can help you in solving your confusions.

As already mentioned, sudoku basically requires logical reasoning. There is no simple mathematical formula that can get you a solution. Just start off with solving the problems and you will find yourself glued to this game. If you are going on a journey, then this is one of the best printable travel games, that you can carry along with you. All that is required for playing this game is a sudoku puzzle, a pencil and of course, your brain. Hope this article on sudoku tips & tricks proves to be of help to you.
