Success is a Thought

Most people are chasing after success. They want cars and homes and money. What if they simply changed their idea of success?
What do you think about when you hear the word success? A lot of people will think of big cars, bigger homes, and large wallets. Success is more than those things. Success is simply a thought you have.

Does this surprise you? Well, think about this. Let's say your dream was to help people. You got to college and study to become a social worker. After you graduate, you land a job with a non-profit group that helps homeless people.

Every day you go to work and genuinely help the people who need it most. You help them get jobs, homes, and raise their self-esteem.

Now, in case you don't know, most social workers make somewhere between $25-$40,000 per year. Odds are that they do not live in a big house or drive a Mercedes. And their bank account may even be smaller than yours.

Are they still not a success?

I would think so. Success is best defined as doing what you want to do with your life. Money, cars, and homes are all nice things. What do you really want to do everyday though? What would make you feel good to give back to the world in some way? What could you do to benefit others?

Success is merely a thought. Re-define how you see success and you will see that it is achievable.
