Struggle; Prologue

Remember when things were simple? When getting high meant swinging on the playground? When protection meant wearing a helmet? Dad's shoulders were the highest place on earth and mum was your hero? Your worst enemies were your siblings, race issues were about who ran the fastest. The only drug you knew was cough medicine. The only things that hurt you were skinned knees and goodbyes only meant until tomorrow? And we couldn't wait to grow up.
Struggle; Prologue
I'm here to tell you the story of a girl and a boy who fought through everything to be together. How their hearts tore them down and drove them to take the biggest risk of their lives.

In memory of the boy who made me love.

He stared relentlessly at the spinning bottle in front of him. With his fingers crossed he begged it to stop on her, please stop. The bottle stopped. Yes! The young girl next to him raised her head, a smile spreading across her face. She was pretty. The boy smiled and picked up a card off the top of a pile. ‘10 minuets in the cupboard’ was scrawled across it in someone’s not yet steady handwriting. He showed it to the nervous girl beside him, maybe she hadn’t noticed but her small hands were shaking slightly. She laughed when she saw it and shrugged. No big deal. He stood up and ignoring all the comments and laughter flying around the room and walked towards the open closet. The boy’s heart pounded against his chest as she entered ahead of him. The doors closed behind them and the sniggering stopped as the others continued with the game.

All was quiet. The girl, two years younger than him, was small enough to sit on the floor with her legs crossed. He looked down and judged the space around him. He wouldn’t be able to do the same. He grinned down at the girl. She laughed and grinned back up at him. She looked like sunshine. Blonde hair, blue eyes and wrapped in red silk pyjamas. She raised her self to her knees, her head reaching his waist. There was now enough room for him to do the same. The boy sunk to his knees, her face was now so close to his. His heart pounded at his chest, his head screaming. He could feel her body heat. She blushed, even in the dark he could see. He studied her face, while a stubborn look of concentration crossed his; he was going to remember everything he could about the girl.
Suddenly their eyes locked. The boy knew what came next. His head lowered slowly towards hers. Her eyes started to close, acceptance. Yes! He raised his hands to her face, one on each side. She smelt nice. His lips brushed gently against hers, so softly. Then again, slowly he parted her lips with his own. She let him, curious of what came next. She knew there and then, this boy would be in her memory for the rest of her life and for a seven year old the voice in her head managed to say it with more conviction than the most knowledgeable and aged. This boy had created safety for her; he’d made her fall in love and maybe they were just too young to realize what had happened. They would never be ready for what was to come.

This is a new story guys. Tell me what you think. It is a true story. :) Thank you.
