Straighten Permed Hair: This is an easy process but you need to be very patient and follow each step carefully.
Things you will require for straightening permed hair
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Heat protection product
- Hair Brush
- Hair Dryer
- Straightening lotion
- Flat iron
Procedure to Straighten Permed Hair
Step 1: Wash your hair with a shampoo to remove the oil and dirt.
Step 2: Apply a deep conditioner after washing off the shampoo. Wait for 5 minutes and wash hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Step 3: Towel dry your hair. Don't scrunch your curls while towel drying, just pat dry to remove excess water. Blow dry the hair completely, use a brush while blow drying. Move the dryer from scalp to ends and simultaneously move the brush through your hair.
Step 4: Apply a heat protection product to protect hair damage. Apply it over your hair so as to cover the entire length of your hair.
Step 5: Comb your hair properly from roots to tips, this will help spread the lotion evenly. Also, the hair will be tangle free which will make the straightening process easier.
Step 6: Make three sections of your hair and clip each section up with claw clips. Preferably make left, right and center sections.
Step 7: Now unpin one section to start the ironing process. If your curls are small, then you can make smaller sections of hair for ease of ironing and get the best results.
Step 8: Take a flat iron and hold it as near to the roots as possible. Move it downwards by applying even pressure while it goes from the roots to the ends. If there is heat adjustment setting in your iron, keep it at a low first. Only if low heat is not enough to straighten hair, increase the temperature. Remember, high temperature will give the desired results faster than low temperature but it is likely to damage your hair.
Step 9: Work section by section to have better results.
Step 10: Once the entire length is covered, brush your hair nicely and see the change; you have got straight, shiny and longer hair.
Regularly trimming the hair will keep away the split ends. As far as possible, visit a professional hair dresser if you want to opt for permanent hair straightening. Hair straightened with the above mentioned ways will last till you wash your hair the next time. Do not use blow dryer, flat iron or other hair straighteners very frequently; this may lead to dryness and breakage of hair. Massage your hair regularly with hot oil and condition after every use of shampoo. Take regular hair care and have fun with your locks.
