Storm (7)

After a couple hours of sleeping and watching TV. I got up from the sofa and went to my room; I grabbed my cell phone from the side table. I dialed my friend’s number, and I went towards the window. I looked outside the window on the side of the room and waited for the ring tone to turn into a "HELLO".

While it rang I looked outside and it was snowy and super dark outside, looks like it’s going to be a huge thunderstorm. The sun disappeared behind the clouds and it was nowhere to be found.

She didn’t answer so I left a message telling her that I’m not going to work today and to call all the managers and to tell them that I might check on their sales tomorrow.

I hung up and sat on the sofa near the window, I took a nap.
After a half an hour the thunder storm woke me up. I looked outside and saw a lot of lightning strikes hit trees and polls. I grabbed my cell and called Chris on his cell phone. It rang and rang

"Doctor Chris speaking." Chris answered

"Hey Chris it’s Angela, just wondering when you’re coming home and if you were ok?" I asked as I walked back and forth in my room. I felt scared from the storm, so I just concentrated on the conversation and not on the thunder.

"Yeah, I’m ok just working here, checking on some patients. I don’t know when I’ll be back, maybe around 9:30. I have to leave late today because of the lightning storm, a lot of people of coming in." As he told me this, I widened my eyes in horror that I was going to be lonely longer, and knowing that the storm was getting worse by the minute.

"Well I’ll see you when you come back then. Say hi to Nathan for me. "I felt sad that he wasn’t with me.

"Will do......Ok, so I’ll see you later honey." As he said "honey" and electric shock of emotion fell down my back, it gave me chills.

"Ok b-." I said but Chris interrupted me.

"Angela, don’t go outside. This might be the biggest storm in Seattle. So be careful." Chris told me, with a serious but caring voice. This made me wonder if he cared about more than a friend, since he called me honey.

"Ok I’ll be careful, but I can’t promise anything."
With that I hung up and went to the kitchen to make myself hot chocolate. I got a cup from the cabinet and filled it with boiled water, then got the cocoa powder and put two spoons of it in the water, stirred it and sat on the couch in the living room. I turned on all the lights because it was really DARK outside I also turned on the TV.
I flipped the channel to the news about the weather storm, after 2 minutes the power went out and every light was off, it got dark in a second.

Before the storm had the chance to take away the power, the weather lady on channel 7 said,
"This is truly the most dangerous rain and snow storm record in Seattle. This storm is both rain and hail mixed so its safer If you stay indoors. The data shows that the storm is going to take da-" ........that’s when it turned off. I waited 20 minutes for the lights to come back, I didn't know where the flashlights were at, so I just stayed putt.
I put a white blanket over my track pants and put both of my hands on the hot mug. It was freezing, and scary from the lightning storm.

While I drank my hot chocolate, I heard hitting sounds from outside, it must have been a really bad storm. Every minute the storm just gets harder, so I decide to go and visit Chris at the hospital so I won't be so lonely.
I get up, zip up my hoddie, and grab my keys. I look outside and saw fog, hail, rain, lightning, and heard thunder.

As the hail rocks hit the floor, and the lightning hitting trees I kept thinking to myself if it was safe enough to go. I lock the house with the extra key Chris gave me before he left.

I run to my car and get in; I turn on the car and wait a few seconds for the car to heat up from the cold. As I drive I realize that I didn’t really know which of the hospitals he works at. There are over 5 hospitals in Seattle, which one could it be? and should I keep driving in this storm?
