Stop Your Gambling Roulette Guesswork

There are many different choices of wager for a roulette player to make. Some are called outside bets. These bets are around the outside of the board and do not involve selecting a specific number. The most popular example of an outside bet is wagering whether the number will be red or black.

Other outside bets include wagers whether the number be odd or even, or whether it will 1-18 or 19-36. All of these mentioned outside wagers pay even money. However, the odds are not completely even because of the presence of the green spaces.

In European roulette there is only one green space. That is for the number 0. With American roulette, another green space is added and is called 00. Should you bet any of the above outside bets and a green comes up, then your bet loses. The only way to win if the number is a green is to have wagered on that number. You can bet greens alone or a bet which covers both.

Other outside bets are called "dozen bets". These wagers pay 2 to 1. An example is betting the number will be 1-12, 13-24, or 25-36. You can also place a dozen bet vertically down the board capturing on third of the numbers that way. As with other outside bets, if the ball lands on a green then all dozen bets lose.

Inside bets are when you place a wager on a specific number, or a small combination of them. Odds given vary by casino, but a sole number which hits usually pays 35:1. If you bet a block of four numbers and one hits, then the payout is usually 8:1 or 9:1.

Many betters just guess which bet to place and how much to make it for. This is a losing non-strategy. Smarter players devise disciplined methodologies for both strategy and money management. Knowing which wager to place and for how much is powerful knowledge.
