Each flower is known for its unique fragrance, especially the rose and the jasmine has a mind-blowing fragrance. Unfortunately, this is not true for the feet. As soon as the shoes and the socks are removed, after coming from the office, one experiences an unpleasant odor. Initially the person may look perplexed, but bringing the nose close to the feet, the person may realize from the odor is coming from. This annoying odor is actually being released by the stinky feet and the person has no choice to bear this smell the whole night.

Stinky Feet Causes

Excessive foot perspiration is a common phenomenon, the reason being large number of sweat glands in the feet. Each foot houses approximately more than 200,000 sweat glands. It is to be noted that sweat itself is odorless, but when it comes on the surface of the skin, the pre-existing bacteria on the skin, feed on this liquid (sweat) and excrete waste. The waste products excreted by the sweat eating bacteria, actually produce an unpleasant smell.

Stinky Feet Solutions

Shoes that are too tight should not be worn as well as preference should be given to breathable socks. It is explained in detail below:

Wear Black Cotton Socks
Wearing clean socks can play a very important role to get rid of unbearable foot odor. Choosing synthetic socks over cotton socks is certainly a wrong choice. This is because synthetic material doesn't absorb any sweat. On the other hand cotton socks are not only comfortable to wear but also absorbs perspiration. The cotton material provides good absorbing properties, especially black cotton socks have higher 'moisture-absorbing' capability. It allows the skin to breathe and hence those looking for stinking feet solutions, should first start wearing socks made from 100% cotton.

Change Socks Daily
Buying a pair of cotton socks and wearing it everyday, without washing, can also give rise to stinky feet. So, inculcate the habit of going to the office with a new pair of socks. Cotton sock are not at all costly and so purchasing 4 to 5 pairs of cotton socks is definitely budget friendly.

Use Anti - Bacterial Soap
This is a commonly prescribed remedy for people having stinky feet. Washing feet with ordinary soaps won't help to kill the bacteria. Doctors often recommend feet washing during bedtime and in the morning. Antibacterial soaps used for the treatment of acne are often used to wash smelly feet.

Do not Wear Shoes Without Socks
Many people in a hurry, put on shoes without wearing socks. This is indeed an unhygienic habit, as the sweat released is soaked by the shoes. This in turn makes the shoes stinky. No wonder, people who follow this practice are often advised to keep their shoes outside the house.

Drink Plenty of Water
One may ask how water intake will benefit to minimize feet odor. Sufficient water consumption detoxifies the body by eliminating the toxins, bacteria and the viruses through the urine. This detoxification process can immensely contribute to get rid of this unpleasant feet odor.

Apply Powder to Stinky Feet
Application of powder can work miracles to eliminate foot odor. Many prefer to use 'Gold Bond' powder as it smells really good. One can sprinkle this powder in the shoes or apply it on the feet when wearing sandals.

Wear Leather Footwear
The type of material used to make shoes is a crucial factor in determining the amount of smell produced by the feet. Some footwear materials have the ability to absorb the sweat. However, this tendency to hold sweat actually promotes bacterial growth inside the shoes, which ultimately leads to stinky feet. So, don't forget to wear shoes or sandals made from hard leather. This is because leather is not a good sweat absorbent and hence even after wearing leather shoes for long hours, feet remain odorless.

Green Tea
Another approach regarded as one of the best stink feet home remedies is to use green tea. One can immerse foot in a container filled with green tea, or else one can rinse the feet using green tea daily to kill the bacteria causing smelly feet.

When inside the house, there is no need to wear any kind of footwear. Allow the feet to breathe by doing the mundane routine barefooted. On the whole, keep in mind that in order to make stinky feet a distant possibility, one must wear the right type of shoes and socks as well as use soaps and baby powders.
