Stephanie Pratt Arrested for DUI

Details will certainly be emerging in the coming days regarding the arrest early Sunday morning of Stephanie Pratt on suspicion of drunken driving. Pratt is the sister of Spencer Pratt, husband of Heidi Montag-Pratt – and all are pseudo-celebrities courtesy of the MTV hit series, The Hills. So far, The Hills has produced stardom for Lauren Conrad, perhaps the most bland of all reality television stars, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and most recently, Kristin Cavallari. Stephanie Pratt is not quite at the level of any of the aforementioned, but she’s worthy of a headline for drunken driving.

It will be interesting to see whether The Hills cameras were present for Pratt’s arrest, or if they were with her earlier in the evening, or after her release from a Van Nuys jail. Pratt was released a few hours after her arrest after posting $5000 in bail. In any event, the story will be ratings gold for MTV and they will likely be smart enough to really leverage the exposure.

With Lauren Conrad having graduated from the show and an apparent struggle for new story lines, this incident could really help to fill the void. What can Stephanie learn from her arrest? How is it Kristin’s fault? What did Jesus tell Heidi about it? All of these questions and others are likely to be explored in upcoming episodes of the reality drama. Stay tuned.
