Step - What?! Chapter 1. New Story!!
Please read, I think you really might enjoy this. I'm telling you, it'll get better later on in the chapters ;)
You know that feeling that you get when you finally realize that someone is the one? Your stomach starts doing all these weird things and your heart begins to flutter. All the signs letting you know that you've found the one. It's what every girl dream about feeling and perhaps being able to find. Me on the other hand, I could honestly care less. I was not looking for my 'one' anytime soon, not even ever. It all started when my mother found her new 'one'. His name is Michael and him and my mom got engaged without me even being informed about it. Sure enough, the next thing I know is me and my mother are moving into his 100,000 acre Mansion. Pretty cool huh? WRONG. If my moms 'one' wants me to start calling him "Daddy," he's never going to hear that word come from my mouth. EVER. If all this happens when you find the 'one', then I want no part of it. Not now, not later. Not ever.
"Mom!" I called from the upstairs bathroom that was adjoined to my room and the guest bedroom next door. We had finally moved into Michaels house and today was the first day I attended my new school. I completely had no idea what to wear so I chose the outfit my father, biological by the way, got me for my 17th birthday last year right before him and my mom got divorced. I actually haven't seen my dad since then and well, it's been a year now, seeing as how I just turned 18 last week. I looked in the mirror at the light pair of Hollister boyfriend jeans with the rips up and down the legs. Then my light green Hollister hoodie with a white tank underneath. I decided to do my makeup light today since I really didn't need any. So i just applied a simple touch of mascara and eyeliner to make my hazel eyes pop a little. Not to be conceited about it, but I'm actually a natural beauty. Just ask anyone I know and they will agree.
I heard my mom walk into the bathroom and lean up against the door frame. Looking at her through the mirror, I saw her smile. "You're so beautiful sweetie. All those boys at that school are going to be falling at your feet." My mom always knew the right things to say to make me laugh. Looking back in the mirror I started to mess with my hair. "Should I wear my hair up," I lifted my hair into a pony tail style. "Or should I wear it down?" I let it fall from my hands and into loose blonde waves that surrounded my shoulders. Knowing my mom she always liked when I wore it down and un-straightened. "I like it just like that." Nodding in agreement I picked up a tube of clear lip gloss and applied it to my lips. Lip gloss was pretty much my best friend and I never went anywhere without it. When I was finished I turned and faced my mom who opened her arms up and welcomed me into a motherly hug.
One that made any child feel safer than ever. "You're going to be alright Taylor." Sighing, I looked at my mom one last time then grabbed my stuff and headed downstairs. Grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl in resting on the center of the table, I made my way to my car in the garage. It was my last year of high school and I hated the fact that I had to end it with people I didn't even know. Me and my friend Kellie have always imagined what our Senior year would be like together, and now, well there's really nothing to imagine anymore. When I arrived at the school, I pulled into an empty spot in the parking lot and turned my car off. I was surprised to find that not to many cars were as nice as mine. Knowing where Michael lived you'd think that other people would at least be able to afford nice cars.
But then again, the economy does sort of suck right now. I don't even think anyone could have afforded the new 2010 Toyota Supra, let alone in blue. But then again, it looks like someone can at least afford that silver 2010 Jaguar XJ. Impressive. Not as nice as my baby though, but impressive. Grabbing my things, I made my way out of the car and proceeded to the entrance of the school. People were still crowding around in the parking lot so they had the opportunity to stare. A LOT. I heard whistles and cat calls the whole time I was walking into the school. I had a feeling that these boys in this school were going to be really annoying.
"Ah, Ms. Carter, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." Said one of the secretary's at the front desk in the office. I had no clue what she was talking about, so I just smiled in return. "Your father has been talking about you non stop once he found out that you would be attending his school." My heart dropped once I heard her say that. My father. The guy I haven't seen in almost a year told this lady about me. And I'm attending his school. What?! "Taylor!" I heard someone yell my name, bringing me out of my confusion. When I looked in the direction it came from, I almost wanted to cry. There, with his arms open wide stood my father. All I knew at that moment was that I wanted to feel his arms wrapped around me like old times.
Running into his arms I rested my head on his chest and remembered moments like this before everything that happened. "Daddy, I've missed you so much." He squeezed me tighter to him and kissed the top of my head. "I've missed you too darling." Hearing him say that brought a smile to my face. It was still odd seeing him here though, so I had to ask. "Dad, may I ask what you are doing here?" This only made him laugh and me smile. "Well Taylor, you may not know this, but I'm actually the principle of the school." My jaw dropped. My professional Boxer dad is now a Principle at some high school. Since when? "Dad, you honestly gave up boxing for this?" Raising an eyebrow I looked up at him. He chuckled and shook his head. "Well, not necessarily. I'm sort of just taking a break from it. Since I already had my teaching degree for a long time now, I just felt like using it for a change you know." I nodded my head, but felt the urge to hug him again so I did. It's been to long. Way to long.
After we talked for a few more minutes the secretary at the front desk found me my schedule and handed me a map of the school for just in case. Since I didn't really know where my class was, my father actually decided to show me. When we got to the classroom the door was open and students were already in their seats. I turned to my father and thanked him for everything so far. He kissed the top of my head and smiled then gave my shoulder a soft squeeze and then left. When I walked into class someone was laughing in the back row of desks. "Awe, how sweet. Daddy walked his little girl to class." Then the rest of the students erupted in a fit a laughter causing my cheeks to turn a light pink. "Hush now! Don't be disrespectful Caden." Mr. Mathews, my Physics teacher, barked at him. After he made sure Caden wouldn't open his mouth again, he finally turned to me with a smile. "Ms. Carter it's a pleasure to be knowing that you will be attending my class for your senior year." I smiled at him and nodded. He gestured for me to take a seat in the back row.
Well, right next to Caden actually. "Great, now I got to sit next to the daddy's girl." He mumbled under his breath, not expecting me to hear it. "Great, now I got to sit next to the big 'ole cry baby." His head turned and he looked at me with an annoyed look on his face. I gave him one of my wicked smiles and shrugged my shoulders. He glanced over at me one last time and then gave a small chuckled and reached his hand out for me to shake. "I'm Caden.." This made me smile and I took his hand in mine to shake it. "I'm Taylor." He flashed the most sexiest smile I had ever seen, causing my heart to flutter and my stomach to feel weird. Well, that was strange. Never expected that to happen...
