Stealing Kisses - Ch. 6 - Part 2
I was happy with the way I ended chapter 6 originally. I was rushing to put something- anything- online for you guys. I tabbed a little bit more on the end.. I hope y'all like it! Sorry for the waits! Enjoy =D
Before I could reply, the voice's owner stumbled into the open kitchen still in the process of pulling down his striped polo shirt. "Shit," was the only word that graced his lips when he saw me and this girl I assumed was his sister standing together, engaging in conversation. We all stood there, awkwardly, looking from one face to the other.
The girl's full lips slowly spread into a gorgeous smile that only enhanced her already glowing beauty.
"My little baby brother finally did it!!!!" she yelled, shattering our silence. She jumped and squealed for a few moments, then wrapped an embarrassed looking Kingsley in her arms and jumped and squealed some more.
"Nawww! Stop it!!" Kingsley piped up when she tried to kiss his forehead, squirming and pushing against his sister's iron grip. This made me giggle. "Damn it, Keeton! Cut it out!"
"I'm sorry!! I'm just so happy for you! You finally had your first.. Well.. You know!" she exclaimed, much to mine and Kingsley's horror.
"What?? No!! No! No!" Kingsley protested. "It isn't like that!"
"Oh.. Well.. I'm sorry, then." She looked puzzled- and maybe a little disappointed- but she than recovered and smiled at us both. "I'm making pancakes. Y'all want some?" she said cheerily, breaking the silence once again. I nodded, smiling.
On this note Kingsley grabbed my wrist with an iron lock and led me through the den, out to the back balcony.
"Now the whole family's gonna know I was here!" He started once the door closed behind us. He was still holding my wrist, and it kinda hurt. "This is gonna be disastrous! My sister can not keep her mouth shut!"
"I don't see why its such a big deal," I wondered out loud as I tried to subtly twist from his grasp.
"I mean it's not, but it is. She's just here to get away from Mom, but the second she gets home she's gonna have to tell all about 'Kingsley's new girl'!" He threw his hands in the air finally releasing my wrist.
"Well listen Kingsley. I'll go get my stuff and I'll leave. I'm meeting Raine and Addison for lunch anyway. Call me later." I turned to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist again.
"Marleigh, wait. I'm sorry. This just makes me so freaking mad!" On the last word he clenched his fist, the one around my wrist, causing me to gasp from the sudden pain.
"Oh, Marleigh! I'm sorry!!" he apologized profusely. "I didn't realize that would hurt! I'm so, so sorry! You must thing I'm a total wacko!"
"No, no! It's fine!" I gently twisted my hand out of his grip. "Listen, it looks like you have your hands full here with sister. Why don't I just leave you my number, and you call me later?"
"Are you sure? I don't want you to think you have to leave because of Keeton."
"I don't think that." It wasn't a total lie. "But I have to be getting home soon anyway. There's a pile of laundry the size of Mt. Everest I need conquer."
He laughed slightly, and walked with me upstairs to get my stuff then walked me outside.
"Crap." I said ounce outside. "I forgot my car is still at the China House!"
"No problem," he said, easily. "Take my truck to get yours then leave it there. I can get Keeton to drop me off on her way home."
"Are you sure? Because I can just call someone to come get me."
"I'm positive." He handed me the keys and watched me drive away.
