Starved

A poem a wrote when missing someone...
Holding on to a scrap of sanity
I sit and wait for your return
I hope and wish for your presence
You left me in the cold
You left me to starve
Hungry for your touch
I sit waiting for the pounce
Yet I know you have left
Upset, anger, hurt and pain
Can’t begin to describe my emotions
I long for your touch
I’m hungry for your presence
I starve for your love
No one can feel pain
As much as I feel right now
I tried to forget you
I tried removing you
From any memory of mine
But you still lurk
You are a stain in my mind
You will never go
Always remain
Yet it’s just memories
You are not really here
I wish you were
But you have left
A long time ago
You left me here
All I have now is dreams
That one day you will return
