Starstruck - Chapter Five - Alone
Haven Anderson is a famous singer, every girl knows him, and almost all have pictures of him plastered on their walls. Gypsy is just a small-town girl, one of the few who are not obsessed with Haven, she has bigger dreams than marrying someone famous. But when fate pulls these two into meeting, will she change her mind? And will Haven finally see that there's something better than just the spotlight?
Oh. My. God. I am SO SORRY! There has been so much going on lately, between school and family problems. Life can really suck sometimes! My mom isn't in the best of health, so I've been really busy with the house, and our dogs, and then school. I haven't have much good sit-down-and-write time. Which is why this chapter is so short. x_x I'm sorry. And I love all of my readers/commenters/raters. I'm so mad at myself for waiting so long! Anyway, here you guys are, let me know what's on your mind, rage at me for taking sooo long, whatever, as long as I know you all are doing ok!
I will reply to all the comments on chapter four when I have more time, but I promise I will!
Enjoy. :)

***I huffed as I stuffed my hands into my pockets, shopping bags hanging from each arm. I glanced around, then turned right, crossing the street quickly. I was headed to some downtown café, not the one we were playing at. I was meeting up with Lexi, now, I had just finished gathering clothes. I trotted down the sidewalk, eager to get out of the cold. Within about ten minutes, I was pulling at the front doors.
"Gypsy!" Lexi attacked me, hugging tightly.
"Lexi!" I hugged her back, tighter, "I missed you so much."
She laughed, stepping back, "I missed you, too." Then, she suddenly noticed the bags on my arms, "Ooh, done a little shopping, have we?"
I grinned, "Just a little."
She rushed up to me, taking the bags, "What'd you get?" She sorted through them, then looked back up at me and winked, "Impressive! I think this calls for a trip to the spa. Get you all kinds of pretty for the band," She wiggled her eyebrows, "Especially Adrian." She smirked at me as we walked over to a spot by the window.
"You mean, get yourself all kinds of pretty for Adrian?" She whacked at my shoulder playfully. Lexi had a huge crush on my guitarist, Adrian. I was pretty sure he liked her as well, but I didn't really want to say anything. He should make the first move, not me.
"Oh, hush. It's not my fault you have a sexy band." We laughed in unison, just as the waitress came up.
"Uhm.. Sorry to disturb you, but, are you ready to order?" She smiled politely, her scarlet hair pulled back in a loose bun. Her eyes were brown, and she was very skinny, and tall.
I smiled back, removing my red knit beanie from my head, "It's fine. No interruptions. I'll have a... Hot cocoa. With marshmallows and whipped cream, please!" She nodded, then looked to Lexi.
"And for you, Miss?"
"Bah. Same." Lexi grinned at me, laughing. The waitress jotted that down, as well, then left us. "So," She smiled, "How's Nate and you doing?" This seemed to be a frequent question.
"Hum. Alright, I suppose," I fidgeted with my hair, sighing.
"You suppose? Gypsy, why are you two still together? It's obvious you don't truly like him. You need someone who actually makes you smile. I miss jumping around the room, squealing like careless teenagers over some hot guy. Some hot guy that you managed to spot before me."
I laughed at the memory, "Hm. Ryan Shift. Now, he was a looker. I heard he got locked up for dealing, though. Sad, really,"
Her eyebrows raised, Ryan had been one of my huge crushes in Junior High, "Really?! Wow. What a waste of beauty," We both laughed, as the waitress came back over, setting our cocoa in front of us. I offered her a thankful smile, which she returned with a grin of her own.
I took a small sip, leaning back in my chair. Lexi's eyes settled on me, her expression turning somber. "You've been thinking about him again," She accused.
I shook my head, "No idea what you're talking about,"
She rested her arms on the table, leaning forward, "Don't lie, Gypsy, you've got your mind on man. And not just any man. A man that left you broken, and me confused,"
I felt my expression darken. She had nailed me, "I'm completely over him," She rolled her eyes, tugging a magazine from my bag, she looked it over, then back at me.
"Yeah. Completely." She slapped the magazine down, right in front of me. Haven's smirk haunting me. I pushed it away, looking out the window.
"Completely. I just like to stay updated on today's musicians, that's all. Maybe some day it'll be my face on that magazine," Lexi sighed, shoving the magazine back into one of the bags.
"Liar," She accused, standing. She glanced at her watch, "Well, I'd better get going. Classes start soon," She smiled, leaning down to hug me, "Forget him. Really. It hurts to see you in so much painful denial, Gyps." I hugged her back, muttering a brief goodbye.
"Sure," And then, she left. The waitress slowly scooted back over, seeming more timid and fragile.
"Is there anything I can get you?" I looked up at her, tears forming in my eyes. A lump was caught in my throat, driving away what I really wanted to tell her.
"Don't ever, ever, give your heart to someone who will hurt it. Please, promise me you'll stay strong," I pleaded in a weak, hushed voice, my hand on her arm.
"Uh.. Uh... Y-yes, Ma'am. I pr-promise." She replied, dropping the check and quickly turning, striding away with a hand over her mouth. She seemed on the edge of tears. My arm simply dropped, and I was stuck there, staring at the check. Dumbfounded. Lost. Confused. I needed answers. So bad, did I need answers.
