Stages of Life

Life is God's gift to us. He has sent us down on this planet for a reason. Every person leads a different life - wants, culture, feelings, likes/dislikes, love, etc…
A Life-span is just many different segments put together. At every stage in life we feel, live, behave and want differently. If not completely different, we are quite different people at different stages.

Birth
When we are born, we know nothing. The world seems to overwhelm us. Everything is a big spectacle. We feel, smell, see, taste and hear for the first time. It all seems so great, wonderful and sometimes even scary. And we have someone called a "mom" to see to it that we are doing just fine.

Childhood
We grow up a bit. Understand some things. Many things we don't. But this is the time in life when we want to know about everything. Anything new fascinates is a lot. We keep asking questions about anything we see or hear. We are tension-free. We want most things, not bothering where or how they come from. The only thing we need to do is study decently, and that is the one thing we find really hard to do (except for the brilliant few).

Teens
This, for many is the most enjoyable phase of life. College, university, parties, friends, outings and what not - all exciting stuff. This is also the time we feel we know it all. Most things our parents correct us about, we feel they are just too old-fashioned. We like the fast life, fast things, fast cars and bikes. We feel there is less time in hand for the so many exciting things we want to do. But the truth is, they have been through it all. And they correct us for our own good.

Adulthood
Life gets a little more serious. Getting settled down with a stable career is of importance. We make new friends, meet new people. Yes we also bump into many people that don't intend to wish us well. It's then survival of the fittest. That's the secret formula today (though not so secret). Other things than work, we wish we could take them a bit slower, many times sitting down just to think about our childhood and earlier days. The time we had in hand, the things we could do, but now can't. What are we striving for now? For this kind of life?

Old Age
Earlier in life, we picture ourselves to get retired later in life, happily I might add. A lucky few get to retire and live a peaceful life. A big family, a lot of people around us, and yes, some quiet peaceful moments we can enjoy by ourselves. Some others, their children also don't seem to bother how they are doing. Some are stuck by debt, sickness, loneliness, to name a few. What have we lived for? For this? We think!!!

Life is like that. You can't be sure what you're going to get. There is no definite road to success. There is no fixed formula for a happy life. But as I said, we all are here for some reason or the other. The point is to live it the best we can, and help a few others too along the way. I have not written anything above that you are hearing for the first time. This is all normal stuff. But this is just a summary of life. General life. What it offers us and how we handle it.

The point is, life is precious. Go for what you want. We have one life. Don't waste it. I repeat, we are all here for a reason. So just thank God and smile ahead.

Cheers!!!
