Sprint and Kyocera came together on the first week of February, 2011, to announce this first-ever dual touch screen android based smartphone. Expected to be one of the most mind-blowing and perhaps the best Sprint phones 2011, the android enabled Kyocera Echo definitely has the looks and tech-specs to die for. The other specifications of this super cool gizmo include two 3.5″ touch screens with a resolution of 480x800 pixels each. Combined, this means 4.7″ touch screen and 960x480 pixels resolution! The operating system is Android 2.2 Froyo and it is also equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. This smartphone boasts of a 1GB internal memory and a 5 mega pixel camera equipped with an LED Flash, digital zoom faculty, auto focus capabilities and HD Ready 1280x720 pixel video recording. It is also Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.

Blackberry 4G Playbook
Aptly named, this smart tablet indeed doubles up as the playground for gizmo freaks and techno-geeks! More of a mobile computing device than merely a telecommunications device, the Blackberry Playbook offers such features as a 7 inch screen with a 1024x600 resolution. A dual core 1 GHz processor translates into effortless multitasking and two separate cameras for snapping pictures (5 mega pixel) and video recording (3 mega pixel). Other features include WMA audio playback and HDMI out. Needless to say, this Blackberry gizmo is Wi-Fi enabled.

Apple iPhone 5
I know, I know, you must be thinking that how can Sprint, that has a 4G network, support iPhone5. Well, the technological atmosphere is saturated with rumors that a new iPhone5 model is being developed for 4G network. If it's true, then Sprint would be competing hard with AT&T and Verizon for a generous chunk of the market share for the iPhone 5 which, as rumors have it, is expected to release anytime between the last week of September to mid October this year. Till then, we can only wait and watch.

HTC Knight
Talk of personal digital assistants and you cannot miss HTC phones. Since its announcement, the HTC Knight has been among the most coveted and eagerly awaited phones this year. This HTC scion sports an 8 mega pixel camera and is powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. Definitely a tough contender for all other phones launched/to-be-launched this year, won't you agree?

I don't know about you guys, but as far as the Sprint phones, 2011, are concerned, my hands are itching to grab the Kyocera Echo! I mean, we're not alien to some or the other generation of various other features possessed by the other 4 contenders mentioned above but a dual touch screen? Hello!!! That's something absolutely new! Plus, if looks could kill, those of the Kyocera Echo is capable of killing, resurrecting and then killing again! Well, that's my opinion based upon my personal requirements and preferences. All the others mentioned in this article are also well worth dishing out the big bucks for this year! So take your pick and proudly strut your stuff at all those formal parties, corporate gatherings and business meetings!
