Splatter Painting Techniques
If you want to fill life in your painting and give it a different effect, then you must try various splatter painting techniques. Here are some splatter painting techniques for you.

Cover the surface of the room with a sheet and wear an old shirt before you start. Keep the cuttings of different shapes (of your choice) on the painting surface. Dip the brush in the paint and hold it facing toward the painting surface. Rub your finger on the bristles in your direction allowing the paint to splatter around the shape. Now, remove the cutting and you will find the splatter paint look as if small streamers have been scattered around. There are different ways of going about it; take a look.
Brush Paint
It is one of the most popular and common ways of paint splatter techniques. For this, you just need paintbrushes and paints of different colors. To give different effects to the painting, you can use brushes of different sizes. Water or glaze can be used to make the paint thin so that you can splatter it in a better and easier way.
Toothbrush Splatter
This is a very simple and a traditional technique of spatter painting with the help of toothbrush. Toothbrush splatter is successful when you have taken up a small project like painting on a pot or a paper. For this, you need a flexible toothbrush and colors. Dip the brush in color and rub on the bristles to make different patterns or you can also rub it on a gauze mesh placed on the top of the paper and allow it to splatter the color on the surface.
Stencils for Shape
To change the look of your painting, you can use different shapes or objects of daily use to create a stencil for splattering. For example, if you want to make a pattern of leaves, for this you can draw a shape of a leaf or bring one from outside. Stick the shape on the wall or the drawing sheet and spatter the color around it. When you will remove the stencil, it will leave it's impression on the surface.
Drop the Paint
This technique allows large drops to scatter on the surface. Dip a brush in paint and drop it on the surface by giving a slight jerk to your wrist. Allow the paint to drop and run all around the sheet by moving it in different directions. This technique doesn't need any toothbrush, a mesh or a stencil to splatter.
Color Yourself
Let's be kids again. You can use your hands and feet to make an interesting pattern. Dip your palms and feet into the color and run it on the painting surface or the drawing sheet giving it absurd shapes and images. You would love it.
Splatter Cloth Painting
You can also paint a T-shirt or a dress of yours by using any of these above-mentioned techniques. You can use stencils to paint a small part of your sneakers or shorts as well.
You just need a clean and blank mind on which you can create an image of your wish using any color. This painting knows no rules and has no boundaries to limit it. There are a number of techniques that can be developed by using your imagination. It doesn't require any specific art skill, but yes it does require creativity. Enjoy!
