With new social networks popping up almost daily, there surely is a place for spiritual network. After all, there are people who instead of making new friends and contacts, want to make spiritual friends and get in touch with like-minded people, who let spirituality power their lives. The reasons may vary, but the belief is the same: it will enhance one’s life and provide raison d'être that, sadly, is missing in many humans today.

Not surprisingly, such a realization comes later in life. After the vibrancy of our youth and early adulthood; having completed the stage of raising a family and nearing the end of our working life, we suddenly come to realize that something is missing from our lives.

The satisfaction of ownership and personal wealth, professional success and content family life, somewhat lose their top positions on one’s "shelf of life achievements". The thought that there’s more to life than prosperity and high self-esteem, comes back stronger each day. We start questioning the sense of continuance and "getting more of the same" or even being the custodians of our earthly treasures, knowing only too well that the day will come, when all will have to be surrendered.

Sadly, the reason we let God enter our lives is fear. We fear old age, loneliness, sickness and death. Our life experience proves that there’s nothing permanent out there. For have we not witnessed more than once, others losing their social status, health, loved ones.... Or, has it happened to us as well? Faced with disillusionment and feeling lost, we invite God - and hope, into our lives again.

Yes, most of us were raised in one or other kind of religious instruction. As we grew and became more "independent" our faith lost its importance. For some, there was perhaps a short burst of interest in spirituality, as if trying to employ another "trick" that could help us fulfill goals, and achieve our full potential. But, God was often seen as an obstacle, a brake, a constraint in realizing the greatness we so desired, the happiness we felt we deserved.

Now, after having run our race and coming to the finishing line, a thought may cross our mind: "Am I in the right race?" And you look around trying to deal with your doubts.
