Soy wax (1 pound)
Fragrance oil (1 ounce)
Mason jar (1)
Wax dye
Cotton wick (1)
Soy wax (This is found in block as well as flake form. Go in for the flake form, as it is easier to use.)
For the fragrance-
Try to use your own creativity to combine a mix of fragrances when it comes to making your own soy wax candles. You will need one ounce of fragrance oil to scent around 16 ounces of soy wax.
For the wax dyes-
These wax dyes are available in different forms. These blocks are made of wax and can be melted with the soy wax.
The soy wax candle wicks-
If the candle has a big diameter then you will have to opt for a thicker wick. Use those, which are attached to a metal disc.
The soy wax candle containers-
The containers that you use for the soy wax candles need to be clean and dry. You can go in for a Mason jar. There is no need to heat this container.
The process:
First, you need to put the soy wax into a pan and heat it slowly on a medium fire. Wait till it melts completely. Now, remove from heat and add the fragrance oil to this. Keep stirring till the fragrance oil is completely absorbed in the soy wax. Wax dye can also be added. Then, pour this melted soy wax into the jar. Next, position the wick in the center. You may need to use a pencil to keep the wick in the center position. Once the wax turns solid, you can trim it to ½ an inch. Your soy wax candle is ready to burn!
Aahh! Simply sit back and enjoy the scent of the soy wax candles. Dim all your lights and get ready for a perfect romantic evening at home without worrying about black soot mounting on your walls or dangerous pollutants wafting all around the room.
