South Florida Weather Can Be Unpredictable

As a Pennsylvania transplant now living in the great Sunshine State of Florida, the weather sure can be unpredictable. It's a mess driving among all the crazy foreigners on I-95 as it is, a little rain adds to the situation.
So I grab my Mustang and put the top down, hoping that I can cruise down Ocean Drive and get some sight seeing in. After driving down from the Lauderdale Suburbs, I was eager to see a little bit of Miami. I picked up my best friend Lance and headed down to South Beach, land of the rich and famous. Little to my knowledge, it's May.....and I was not aware of the rainy season that gets Florida so wet this time of year.

The rain takes over in about early May, according to Lance. I'm a new resident here over the last several years I guess my travel schedule just took me out of state so much that I didn't know that it rained just this much. I was all up in arms about not being able to see the beach crowd on this now drenched Saturday afternoon, that I stopped at Wet Willies to get a drink and watch the crowd from a wet bar stool.

People still came to drink in full effect. I saw some famous rappers all geared up for the daytime fun at Wet Willies, as well as some locals that seemed to be rocking and getting ready to talk about what night club they were going to dominate that night.

Then there was dumb me, all soaked with a wet ride. I slammed my last drink and went over to the Clevelander, which is an indoor and outdoor bar on Ocean Drive which normally has a pretty good show of bikinis and fashion. Well, the rain called off todays event and I was stuck drinking $8 Corona's listening to some people on vacation talk about how the rain was ruining their plans. I was like "Yeah, tell me about it."

Anyways, if you are looking to come to Florida, bring your raincoat if it is in the summer. It can rain strong, to quite strong, and be a nuisance to anyone who is making any sort of solid plans on a schedule. It ruined my Saturday and ruined my cruising. I don't mean to be a downer but it's just the way the rain drops sometimes.
