In the upper elevations of South Carolina, surrounded by forests, lakes, rolling hills, and framed by mountain ranges are beautiful affordable mountain communities. This article shows you why South Carolina mountain homes are a great choice for retirement or relocation.
In the mountain ranges of South Carolina, surrounded by forests, lakes, rolling hills and bordered by mountain ranges are beautiful and surprisingly affordable mountain communities.
The Montebello Community near Greenville South Carolina is New Urbanism. With common spaces, it got its idea from the Tuscan hills of Italy. The Blue Ridge Mountains and Greenville skyline in the distance are only a short drive away. Facilities at this Carolina mountain property cover tennis courts, kayaking and canoeing in Lake Como, clubhouse and heated pool. There is undeveloped, single family, town homes, and condo real estate to be had. Situated in the Greenville, Spartanburg corridor, this South Carolina mountain homes community is a great choice for retirees or to move to.
A true mountain community, Keowee Key, in the northwestern portion of South Carolina, along 18 thousand acre Lake Keowee, is about an hour from Greenville and two from Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina. The community offers town homes, condo, undeveloped and single family homesites starting around one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. This Carolina mountain homes community has tennis courts, indoor racquet ball, an eighteen hole golf course, fitness center, marina, shuffleboard, public garden, lighted and paved trails and a swimming pool. At Keowee Key, you will be residing in one of the best places, in one of the most unspoiled areas..
The Reserve at Lake Keowee is a wonderful choice for mountain living in South Carolina. Situated past Sunset, in the northwestern corner of South Carolina, the community is 3,900 acres; with 1,250 houses intended to be constructed. Available are mountain views, kayaks, 30 miles of shoreline along Lake Keowee, eighteen hole golf course, pro-shop, marina, a putting green and a driving range. A conservation with trails that occupies 400 acres, racquet club, 2 clubhouses with food, Har-Tru tennis courts, swimming pools for adults and kids with fountains, grottos, grills and waterfalls. A "Village Center" that has a meeting house, post office, general store, and areas to work and stay.
Woodside Plantation rests at the borders of the mountains, just outside of Aiken, in horse-riding country, and one of my choices for most excellent spots for South Carolina mountain homes. Staying in the vicinity of Aiken gives you an approach to the sea shore and the mountains, with Columbia South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia less than an hour away on wheels. The 2,300 acres is a bluebird reserve, with nature preserves, hiking and walking trails, community garden, kayaking, canoeing, twenty acres of parkland, seven stocked lakes to fish in, four golf courses, croquet court, tennis courts, clubhouses, restaurants, pubs, and meeting rooms for card games, lunch, holiday parties, and charity events.
The Lake Shore on Lake Wylie community on the edge of the 12,000 acre Lake Wylie, beyond Fort Mill South Carolina is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Rock Hill is five miles away, Charlotte, North Carolina is around 15 miles down, Greenville, Spartanburg and Columbia South Carolina are only a little more than an hour drive. With five hundred and forty four acres, its one thousand two hundred proposed residences contain town and single family homes. This community of Carolina mountain homes has parks, playgrounds, gazebos, horseshoe pits, sandy beach swimming area, picnic zones, basketball courts, soccer fields with a concession stand, baseball fields, angling, docks and piers and boat ramps.
