Sorrow

It’s the ocean’s depths
Pulling hope in deeper and deeper
Dragging it down till there is no light at all
Until all hope is lost

It’s a hurricane
Destroying all happiness in its path
Flipping it so it turns to despair
Shattering any happiness that it may come into contact with

It’s a murderer in the night
Showing no mercy for peace
Even at the desperate cries of those he’d slain
Leaving the bloody corpse of peace on the floor

It’s a raging flood
Washing away all joy into unknown darkness
Drowning it till there’s no use in trying
When it’s over there is nothing but the dead bodies of joy left

It’s the loneliness of a broken heart
Twisting the truth till there’s nothing but lies
Until life it’s self is a lie
Until the truth is crushed under the immense weight of loneliness

It’s the darkness in everyone’s mind
Starting out as the devil on your shoulder
Always constricting the angel of goodness
Until you give in to it and the angel of goodness is gone
