The PSP has quickly become one of the most popular handheld gaming systems on the market. However, the Sony PSP goes way beyond just great gaming. It is the first truly integrated handheld entertainment system designed to provide music, video, wireless Internet, photos, RSS, and even online gaming. Here's a complete run-down on what's possible with your PSP.
Games - Of course, the cornerstone of the PSP is it's gaming capabilities. The widescreen LCD helps bring all of your games to life. Plus, if you ever want to play on a full-screen, you can plug your PSP straight into your TV.
Unfortunately, all of these PSP games can start to get quite expensive at $30 - $50 a pop. That's where the Internet comes in, providing unlimited PSP downloads for a small one-time fee. For a complete guide on how to gain access to unlimited games, music, movies, and tv shows, check out the link at the bottom of this article.
Movies and TV shows - This is one of my favorite PSP features. HD / DVD quality movies make for great entertainment on the go. If you decide to sign up for a PSP membership site, then you can download movies like Transformers and The Bourne Supremacy. You can also download TV shows like Smallvile, Grey's Anatomy, Prison Break, and thousands of others. You'll never have an excuse to be bored again.
Music - The PSP can hold all of your favorite music collections. There are multiple ways to get all of your favorite music onto your PSP. One of the most popular ways is to simply move the mp3's already on your computer straight into your PSP. All you need is a USB cable. You could also rip a CD into MP3 format and then transfer the files onto your PSP.
Emulators - If you're like me, the old school games never really get old. You can install emulators on your PSP for Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, and more. This allows you to play all of the classics like Super Mario Brothers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and PacMan.
Browse the Internet - If all of this didn't make the PSP cool enough, you can also use it to browse the Internet. With it's Wi-Fi capability you can connect to the Internet at all of your favorite Wi-Fi hot spots. You can also use this to play against other PSP gamers.
Photos - The PSP can also be used to hold all of your photo collections. You can set up a slideshow or send them to friends via Wi-Fi.
But it doesn't end there. You can also download E-books, Lyrics, podcasts, RSS feeds, Themes, Wallpapers, and more. Plus, if you want to do a little tweaking, there are plenty of hacks you can do to extend the PSP's capabilities even further.
