Son's Birth Day

A father remembers his son's birth day.
Little hand locked around my thumb,
Filling my heart with a father's love,
Putting all my worries and fears to rest,
Fierce warrior speechless, struck dumb.

Mother is sleeping, tired from giving you,
Now it’s time for father and new son,
Nine months felt longer than my 40 years,
You know my voice, but my face is new.
