Song to My Soul, Chapter 7

Sarah

I lay my forehead against the baseboard at the end of Chance's bed. My eyes felt heavy, and I had a headache. Chance still hadn't woke up. They done surgery about 5 hours ago to remove the glass and stitch up his back. He had gone into a coma. I get up and walk to his side. I kneel down beside the bed and take his limp, and pale hand. "Chance, don't leave me...please..I'd die without you. You've helped me so much. I know you're my love, you're the one. I can't lose you." Tears fall down my cheeks as I whisper, "I can't....."

Then, all the monitors start beeping and he begins to shake, I step back as nurses come in. He turns even more pale, and I cover my eyes, they tell me to wait in the waiting room.....

Hours later.....
The doctor comes out and tells me he had a heart attack, but he's awake and wanting me. I run into his room. I look at him, he looks so fragile, I walk over and kneel down. Tears roll down my cheeks, "Chance....Chance...your awake, you don't know how much praying I've done." I kiss his cheek, "I never want you to do me that way again, I never wanna loose you." He smiles, but winces.

Chance

I wake up, and the first thing I ask is, "Where is Sarah?" The doctor tells her to come in. Everything is hurting and my heart breaks as she kneels down and begins to cry. I try to raise my hand, but can't. So I whisper, " I love you, and I won't do that again..." I look her in the eyes, " I promise sweetheart." She smiles and my heart begins to float.
