Soldiers and Saviors

The inspiration for this poem: Valkyrie (movie), Ben Stiller, Anne Frank, Schindler, and survivors.

Tanks roll in,
A family screams,
Children cry
And houses cleaned.
Burning memories,
Lives destroyed.
Past and present
Both devoid.
Hiding while
The soldiers seek.
No one breaths,
The floorboards creak.

Hearts are pounding,
Soldiers sweat,
Traitors to Hitler
But all for the best.
Bombs to be planted
And people to kill,
Angry eyes
And hunger to fill.
