So Many Ways to Get Around LA
Los Angeles offers so many transportation options to relieve its growing congestion problem, but you will need more time than money to get around this bountiful city.
When it comes to public transportation, Los Angeles has that covered. You can get just about anywhere you want to go using the public transportation. It is a bit confusing, though, so take the time necessary to read the maps, especially when transferring to the local bus companies. There are five Metro Lines and two Bus systems that will get you to where you need to be for about five bucks. Now that is a steal!
When you arrive at the airport, you will have many choices to choose from when it comes to transportation to your hotel. Some hotels that are close to the airport offer a courtesy shuttle service for their guests from the airport to the hotel. If you are lucky, they may even offer additional shuttles to other local attractions and beaches once you arrive at the hotel. They may charge a fee for this service, but it will be well worth it, especially if you have a guarantee return time. There are also Shared Ride Services where you ride on a bus with everyone else and the bus stops at several predetermined stops along the way. The fee is usually much less expensive for this service but, you will not know how long it will take, so if timing is an issue for you, this might not be the best option. At LAX, you also have the Union Station FlyAway which is a bus that runs every half hour between LAX and Union Station in approximately 45 minutes which is the fastest option available during rush hour.
Taxis are always an option once you land in LAX. There are nine companies that serve the city of Los Angeles. All licensed taxis are metered, but many offer a flat rate for trips from LAX to Downtown. You could always rent a car and drive yourself around this fantastic city, or, better yet, pick up the phone and reserve a limousine from Orange County Limousine Service and leave all the driving up to them!
