Nikki's POV
"Excuse me, Sir but if you could really not touch me that would great." I said to the smelly man sitting next to me on the bus.
I was currently headed toward Riverside, California. I looked at the brochure and it was a pretty place but sitting here next to a guy that smells like a farm makes me want to go back to Cape Cod really bad.
Hopefully, when I do get back I would have completely forgotten who Austin Angels was.
I stared out the window watching trees go by like a blur. I couldn't wait for the next stop so I could hop off and get this homesick feeling out of me.
My thoughts were disrupted as the bus lurched forward and stopped. I heaved a sigh of relief as Mr. Stinky Farm grabbed his bags and practically ran off from the bus like I was the smelly one.
I looked out the window again and now I felt too lazy to even think about stepping off the bus like Mr. Smelly Farm over there. I shut my eyes and started to drift slowly to sleep.
"'Scuse me?" I jumped up when I heard someone by me. He was tall and looked to be in his twenties.
He was gorgeous! He had a beautiful curls and green eyes. I was in a bit of awe.
"Um, Miss? Are you alright?" He asked. I shook my head yes.
"Yeah, Yeah. Sorry, I blanked out there. Is there something you need?"
"Oh I was just going to ask if this seat was taken. Is it?" Thank you, Lord!
"No! Feel free to take it" I said smiling. He smiled back and sat down right as the bus started moving again.
After he buckled up he turned to me.
"I'm Liam by the way." Liam said shaking my hand.
"I'm Nikki."
"Well Nikki, Can I ask why someone as young as you is doing on a bus in the middle of nowhere?"
I laughed, trying to get the sting of being called young out. I mean I was young but I wasn't THAT young.
"As a matter a fact, I'm turning eighteen next month. And as for what I'm doing here, let's just say I'm taking a break from some things."
I turned away to hide the flush of embarrassment I just felt. I was using the same sassy tone I had used when I first met Austin.
Damn it, Nikki!
"Oh, I guess I'm doing the same thing." I turned to face him, a look of curiosity on my face.
"Maybe if I tell you my problems, it will help keep your mind of yours." Liam said. "My family is really conservative. They don't accept things like homosexuality.
And seeing that I'm gay, they don't accept me." He looked on the verge of tears and I felt guilty thinking that my problems were too much.
I laid a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry." I say. He turns and shakes his head.
"It's okay I don't let that bother me too much."
Liam flashed me a brilliant smile, probably so I'd think he didn't care but I could tell he did. He noticed I could see what he was really feeling and he changed the subject quickly.
"So what problems have been bothering you lately?" He asked. I bit my lip and hesitated.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." I said. Liam laughed.
"You didn't run away when a stranger told you he was gay. I think I'd believe you."
I felt better once I saw the sincerity in his eyes. I finally gave in and told this beautiful stranger my troubles.
Austin's POV
"It's got to be somewhere in here!" I yelled as I rummaged through Mayor Lenoy's filing cabinets.
I was becoming more and more aggravated. I couldn't seem to find that stupid paper which would lead me to Nikki. Mayor Lenoy watched as I almost tore his office apart but he didn't seem to care.
He kept trying to tell me something but I always turned, ignoring him.
"MISTER ANGELS!!" Mayor Lenoy shouted. This time I did turn. He was waving a piece of paper around.
"As I've been trying to tell you for the past hour, I have the paper and-"I grabbed the paper out of his hand and practically ran him over as I headed for the door.
I ran across the park and didn't stop until I reached the bus station. I knew I could have called my chauffeur who was at the set of the movie, but right now I wasn't Austin Angels, the movie star.
I was Austin Angels, the guy in love.
When I reached the bus station I was almost collapsing from exhaustion. I managed to get up though and make my way to the ticket window.
Before I could even mutter the words, 'Get me a ticket', someone yanked me away. I was about to throw a punch or cuss someone out until I realized it was Mrs. Lenoy.
Did all the people in the Lenoy family choose to annoy me?
"Hello, Austin." She purred seductively. I gagged on the inside.
It isn't that she isn't hot because she is for an old lady. But she was forty-something and that seemed kind of disgusting to me.
Mrs. Lenoy didn't seem to notice that I was uncomfortable when she grabbed my hand and led me to a gray Volvo parked in front of the station.
"My husband told me about your little predicament and I decided I'd love to help you." She grazed her hand across my butt.
I moved slightly so we were a distance apart.
Cougar much?
I was almost scared to get in the car with Mrs. Lenoy but seeing that I was desperate I decided to do it.
I didn't know if I could handle a long car ride with a lady who was basically eating me with her eyes.
But if it meant getting to Nikki faster I would have to endure.
Nikki's POV
I felt absolutely delighted once we arrived in Riverside. I hopped of the bus happily while Liam trailed behind.
Even though I tried to help him with the bags, he insisted he do it himself. He didn't seem to need help either as he carried each bag with ease.
His totally ripped body must have helped a little too.
I looked all around, entranced by the beauty of this place. I was in as much awe as I was when I saw Liam for the first time.
It's amazing how one bus ride with a person can make you feel as if you'd known them forever. Liam had told me everything and vice versa.
He had even believed me when I told him about Austin! I really started to like Liam.
"Will you wait up?!" Liam yelled from behind me. I stopped and turned around laughing.
I waited until he caught up and then he reached for my hand.
"So I won't lose you again." He said laughing as I glanced at him curiously.
I didn't mind him holding my hand though. It actually felt good.
Liam led me to a pay phone where he released my hand and began dialing someone. I waited silently while he giggled as he talked to the person on the other end of that call.
He looked cute when he was happy. As I slowly begun to get a little bored standing there, Liam finally hung up and took my hand again.
He began leading me again but this time towards a row of HUGE houses across the street.
"Where are we going?" I asked as we stopped at the street light.
"To my boyfriend's place. I told him I found me a girlfriend and he wants to meet you to approve."
We both laughed as we crossed the street. Once we were on the sidewalk again, I sat down of the curb because I was so tired.
Liam laughed.
"Oh come on! You can't be tired already!?" He said, standing over me.
"Yes I can be and I'm not MOVING." I said crossing my arms like a three year old.
Liam didn't say anything and smiled as something came across him. I was curious to what he was thinking and I was about to ask before he lifted me up so quick I was in shock.
Liam hefted me over his shoulder easily and began walking. I had my mouth open and I soon began laughing as I realized how ridiculous I must look being carried like a baby. Liam started laughing too and anyone passing by on the street would have thought we were a happy couple.
In a way we were. Not at all romantic but more like I was suddenly in love with our friendship.
As we turned a corner onto the street where the houses were, I glanced up and noticed a gray Volvo following us. I tried to see who was in it but the windows were tinted so that wasn't going to happen.
I didn't care though. I was being carried by a hot guy to most likely another hot guy's house. How much happier could a girl be?
I knew I sounded sort of slutty but it was the first time since Austin that I felt sort of loved. And I was going to savor the moment.
Austin's POV
"That must put a damper on your mood huh, Sweetie?"
Mrs. Lenoy put her hand on my shoulder. I didn't recoil like I had when she tried to touch me the whole way here. Maybe because I frozen.
I was frozen with jealousy and anger. Seeing Nikki with a guy, laughing and having fun made me angry.
How could she be happy when I was wallowing in misery? She had left me.
I felt myself stiffen and the Austin that was in love was now being strangled by Austin the movie star. I didn't care now.
She was a slut. And Austin Angels does NOT fall in love with sluts.
I turned to Mrs. Lenoy and she purred with delight as leaned my face toward hers. I didn't have time to feel disgust as she lunged at me and began kissing me.
I was so angry that I didn't complain when she took off me shirt. And she certainly didn't complain when I took hers off.
Right now, I would have been happily kissing Nikki. But now she was the one that screwed up.
And I wouldn't regret what I was doing now.
