Slow Cooker Chili Recipes

Slow cooker is an electrical appliance used for cooking. It is easy to cook in a slow cooker, as you just have to add all the ingredients, keep the cooker on low flame before leaving for work, and return home to have a delicious meal.

Chili recipes are for those who dislike bland food and love cooking spicy food using different types of spices available in the market. Here are some of the chili recipes that you can make in your slow cooker.

Beans-Veggie Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups baked beans
  • 15 ounces kidney beans
  • 15 ounces whole kernel corn
  • 1-2 medium-sized green paprika
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 teaspoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin, grounded
  • 15 ounces garbanzo beans
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons of dried parsley
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 19 ounces black bean soup
  • 2 cans of chopped tomatoes in puree
  • 1-2 mushrooms
  • 3 teaspoons of dried basil
  • salt
Preparation

Wash the kidney beans and garbanzo beans separately and drain them. Cut the onion, mushrooms and paprika into one inch length and chop the garlic and celery into tiny pieces. Put the baked beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, corn, black bean soup and tomato puree in the slow cooker and mix well. Then add the garlic, cumin, basil, parsley, chili powder and a pinch of salt. Stir once and cook on high flame for 2 hours or 5-6 hours on low heat. If you like very spicy food, you can add some more chili powder or chili mix and also a dash of black pepper. You can also make your own moderations as per your liking and enjoy your veg-chili dish. This can be served to 6-8 people.

Easy Ground Turkey/Beef Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups kidney beans
  • 2 pounds ground turkey or beef
  • 2- 3 medium-sized onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cans chopped tomatoes
  • 1-2 green chilies
  • 3 teaspoon grounded cumin
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • salt- as per taste
  • Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
Preparation

Dice the turkey or beef (you can choose any one, as per your preference) into little cubes. Heat a non-stick frying pan, fry one chopped onion and minced garlic and then add the turkey or beef and cook till it becomes brown. You can also add black pepper and red pepper while frying, if you prefer a very spicy dish. By the time the meat gets cooked, chop the onions and green chilies finely. Wash and drain the kidney beans. Add all these ingredients along with the cooked meat into the slow cooker and blend well. Pour in the tomato sauce and mix with cumin, green pepper and salt. You can cook it for 4 hours on high flame or 8-10 hours on low flame. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and your delicious chili dish is ready to be eaten.

Spicy Chicken Chili Cooker Recipe

Ingredients for main dish
  • 3 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 teaspoon smoked bell pepper
  • 1 lb white beans
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • salt-as per taste
  • 5 cups of water or low sodium chicken broth
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2-1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • ½ cup green chillies
Ingredients for garnishing
  • Sour cream
  • spicy salsa
  • avocado
  • cilantro
  • red onion
Preparation

Remove the skin and bones of the chicken thighs and keep it aside. Dice the onion, garlic and green chilies into tiny pieces, put them in the slow cooker and keep the steam on high. Add the white beans into it after washing it thoroughly. Then put in the chicken thighs and pour in water or chicken broth (you can combine both). In a non-stick pan, stir cumin and coriander on a medium to low flame for 2-3 minutes, until it gives a pungent smell and then add paprika, pepper, cayenne, salt and oregano to it. Keep this mixture into the slow cooker and cook for 7-8 hours. Garnish with chopped cilantro, avocado and red onion, and blend well with spicy salsa and sour cream. You can also make this dish with ground chicken or turkey.
