Sleep Tight Angel..
I wrote this when my nan fell asleep forever. It’s been under a week since she left but I need her more than ever.
In a tiny room
Lase covers her place face
Stone cold she lies there..
Not breathing one breath
No heartbeat in her chest
No ryhem to her steps
She’s no longer there.
Her body’s cold and her souls not there
I kissed her head, opened her eyes.
I did everything I could but she wasn’t there.
I placed my hand upon her heart waiting to feel the beat
I held her hand and hugged her tight but she still refused to breath.
I stay awake in bed each night dreaming of your touch,
I long to see your smile.
Nan, I miss you so so much.
I need you with me,
I long for you each day.
Please stay with me,
Helping me get stronger everyday,
We’ll never forget you, Granddad mum or me.
So close your eyes and fall asleep
You’re up in heaven now, finally at peace.
