Skincare and Your Health

Did you know that skincare and your health are closely related? Many people don’t think about the two and how using skincare products can have an effect on your whole body. However, it has more of an impact that you might realize. Did you know that the lotions and other skincare products that you use will be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream where it travels throughout your body? When you think about some of the chemicals that are used in these products, it’s a very scary thought.

Studies have shown that many of the ingredients used in products for your skin contain harmful chemicals that can have a direct affect on your health. For example, studies have shown that parabens (a preservative) can cause rashes, allergies and certain types of cancer. Mineral oil not only clogs pores causing pimples to appear but it also prevents toxins from being eliminated through the skin effectively.

It’s true that these chemicals are used in small portions and if only used a few times would most likely not cause any damage. However, it’s the prolonged used of these products that can have an adverse effect on your health. How often do you use skin care products? How many products do you use per week? Most people use some type products for their skin at least once a day.

So how do you choose a skincare product that is good for your skin and your health? That’s easy, read the labels and look for products that contain true natural ingredients such as the ones listed below:

- Natural Oils
- Avocado
- Macadamia
- Phytessence Wakame
- Babassu wax
- Cynergy TK
- Manuka honey

Once you find a quality product with true natural ingredients, you’ll notice a difference right away. Not only will your skin look younger and smoother but you may even begin to feel better over time as well. Of course, using organic skincare products is not a guarantee that you’ll always be healthy. There are many factors that determine how healthy a person is such as, diet and exercise. Plus, there are many things that you don’t have any control over. Still, it can help reduce the overall damage that you do to your body.

Using the right products can help to fight free radicals, reduce premature aging and you won’t be filling your body with unsafe chemicals that are doing more harm than good. When choosing a product to put on your skin, keep in mind that this is the largest organ in the body and it absorbs what you put on it. This will help remind you of just how vital it is to choose carefully.
