Cosmetic-conscious people are pretty particular regarding their skin appearance and tone. Several factors may cause skin discoloration and this may become a source of embarrassment and depression for some; after all, look does matter! So, most people would go for over-the-counter products, while some prefer natural skin bleaching methods or products. No doubt, the over-the-counter products are effective, but they come with many undesirable side effects.

Homemade Skin Bleaching Recipes

Boil a handful of fresh mint leaves using about 2 cups of water and let it sit for sometime, until it cools down to the room temperature. Once cooled, remove the mint leaves and add the juice of one whole lemon to it. Stir it well and apply it to your face and body. Soak a clean cloth in the mixture and squeezing out the excess, place it over your face for about 20 minutes. You can save whatever is left in the refrigerator, up to one week.

Another recipe for skin bleaching is a mixture of oatmeal and olive oil. You would require oatmeal (2 tbsp.), olive oil (1 tsp.), plain yogurt (1 tbsp.) and lemon juice (2 tsp.). Mix all of these in a bowl and stir until you form a paste. If you find the paste getting too viscous, then add some water and stir again. After the mix is ready, bleach the required areas of the body and allow the mix to dry on the skin. You would be required to wait for about 15 - 20 minutes, before you rinse the bleach with cold water. Use a towel to pat the area, but do not dry it completely. Thereafter, apply a mild moisturizing lotion to the treated area to prevent drying. Repeated bleaching using this method is required, until the desired results are achieved.

Get the juice of a lemon, a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of powdered milk. Combine the ingredients and let it stay in a microwave for 10 seconds. Thereafter, stir well to dissolve the milk. Let it cool down and then apply it to the desired area and let it stay for about 20 minutes before rinsing off.

If you are fond of oranges, then do not throw the peels away. First, get them cleaned by scrubbing them in hot water and let them dry under the sun. When completely dry, crush them into a powder form using a mortar and a pestle. Prepare a paste of this powder and a few drops of milk and work it on your face and neck. Rinse with lukewarm water, after having the mix stay for about 1 hour.
