Ski Trip 7!
This is getting to be a huge story. If you don't wanna read it anymore, I completely understand lol.
It wasn't the next morning until I felt even close to 90% warm. I still had to dress in warmer clothes then usual, and Trent told me that I should stay inside today, but I figured it wouldn’t be so bad since he was stuck in here, too. Seth had left before I got up to go catch some snow. Trent told me he planned on coming back around lunch to check up on us. As for Parvati and Danny, well, I could see how her bringing her boyfriend was going to be a major drag. She had hardly talked to me and she looked like she didn’t even care when she came up to my room yesterday night to see how I was doing. I was this close to suggesting that they get their own place.
"Thinking about anything?" Trent asked. I was snuggled up under a blanket on the a couch and Trent was sitting in the chair with a towel-wrapped ice pack on his wrist.
"Eh, not really. What do you wanna do? We’re both stuck here today." I say, shifting around on the couch. It was only 11 o’ clock, so I decided to hold back on my offer to make lunch.
"Whatever, I mean, I don’t care. Seth will be back here soon."
"Okay, well, we can just watch this boring TV." I said. So we did. We sat there like couch potatoes until 1:30 when Seth came in, snow practically dripping off of him.
"Hey, there, guys. How we doing?" He started to shed layers of clothes off and smiled.
"I’m not injured. I could have gone back out there today, but-"
"You’re still not well." Trent finished. I sighed loudly and I saw Seth crack a smile.
"I really think I’m over it. Trent, please! I’m gonna die if I stay in this house much longer."
"Oh, Sam, trust me when I say this, you will not die." Seth chimed in. I smiled at him and he walked over and took his place on the end of the couch. I scooted up a little bit so he would have some room.
"I have an idea. Sam, you can ride down the ski hill once or twice, and don’t try to bargain with me cause you really shouldn’t be going outside, but you have to go with Seth." Trent said. He said that like it was a punishment. I would be delighted to go with Seth down a hill! Except, that would make him like my babysitter, yuck.
"Fine. I’ll go get ready." I dressed extra-warm and Seth and I left Trent in the cabin to watch a movie.
"So, are you like totally bummed that you have to ride with me?" Seth said, once we were outside.
"Uh, I don’t know why Trent put it like that. He made it sound like skiing with you is a punishment or something." I smiled.
"Well, it is when I’m with him cause I don’t shut my mouth." Seth laughed. God, I loved his laugh. It warmed me up, even though I was freezing. "You warm enough? You look pretty cold, maybe we should head back."
"I’m fine." I assured him. We rode the lift to the top and this time, instead of going onto the higher hill, Seth stayed on the intermediate hill with me. Maybe tomorrow I would go down the expert hill. We rode down the hill two or three times, and then he convinced me that we should head back.
As we were emptying out our locker, I saw Shane putting his stuff into the one next to ours.
"Hey." I said. Shane turned around and smiled.
"Hey, there. Where did you disappear off to yesterday? I rode back up and didn’t see you."
"I went home only to find out that my brother had broken his wrist. Then I fell asleep on the porch and got a mild case of hypothermia."
"Oh, yuck. That sucks, are you okay?" His eyes were soft, and they dared me to kiss him.
"I’m fine, thanks. I wasn’t supposed to leave the house today, but I wanted to ski." I said.
"Yeah. It would have been better to stay inside, but I’m glad you didn’t. Do you want me to stop by later? I could bring by some soup or something."
"Sure." I smiled. "I’d like that. I’m the first cabin on your left."
"Cool. I’ll stop by tonight." Seth pulled me away and I saw Shane heading to the lift.
