~Sam~

"Hey, Sam." Carter said sliding into the desk next to mine. It was two weeks after Connor and I had gone on our first date, and we were pretty much boyfriend and girlfriend, even though we hadn't really made it official. I was still hanging with my friends, just now if I wanted to have a party, I'd have to invite the football team.

"Sup?" I asked. He was about to answer, when Connor sat down on my other side and said. "Hey, babe." 'Babe' was his official nickname for me, at first it bothered me, but I got used to it.

"Hey, loser." I said, 'loser' was my official nickname for him.

"Wanna go fishing with me, tomorrow?" he said randomly. He kind of enjoyed taking me on weird dates. For instance: he took me rock climbing, a game of hide and seek, once he even took me shopping at Targets.

"Interesting choice." I commented.

"I know." he said, leaning in for a kiss. I let him, at first, I thought it would just be a peck, but it got a bit deeper than that. We probably would have kept going if we hadn't been interrupted by Carter clearing his throat, loudly. I was a bit annoyed with him. If he wasn't going to be jealous, couldn't he let me kiss who I wanted to kiss?

"Sorry I'm late, class." said Mr. Joyner, the only cool teacher in the whole school. Every other teacher was either crazy, emotionally unstable, or had absolutely no life outside of making us miserable. Plus he was 28 years old.

~Lunch~

"Hi, Sam." said a voice behind me. It belonged to a person that I hadn't addressed directly me in 3 years, she was evil, she was gorgeous, and she had a GPA of 3.5. Yep, you guessed it, Peyton Nash.

"Umm... hi." I said, shocked that she was actually talking to me. She hated me, and for good reason. 3 years ago, her dad and my mom dated, they dated for 2 years. One night, her dad decided to propose to my mom, but what he didn't know was that that same night, my mom planned to break up with him. Peyton has hated me ever since.

"Can I tell you something about Connor?" she asked. She was really confusing me.

"Sure." I said. I really didn't know what to expect.

"Don't trust him. He probably seems great right now, but believe me, once you really start to like him, he'll break your heart." When she was finished, she left the bathroom to go back to her life of shopping, make-up, and cheerleading.

~Peyton~

"Peyton, are you okay?" asked Anna. Anna could read me like an open book, even though we'd only known each other for 2 years, she really understood me.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said. She wasn't convinced, but she decided not to push the subject. Good plan.

"Peyton, there's gonna be a wild party tonight, wanna come?" asked my new, yet unimportant boyfriend, Jackson Odom. Jackson was the running back on the varsity team; he was also the school bully. He went around scaring the crap out of every guy in the school.

"No, I gotta study." I lied. I never studied. Everything they taught here was soo easy!

"Come on!" he whined. "You never come out." It was kind of true. Ever since Connor dumped me, I never went to parties anymore. Anna and Liv always tried to force me out, but they were never successful.

"Fine!" I said, giving up. "Where is it?"

"It's at Sam Grays place." He said, paying more attention to his friend who was trying to see how many Red Bulls he could chug before he puked. When he said that my heart sank, because I knew that I would have to face Connor, and I was not looking forward to that.

~The Party~
~Sam~

"Hey, Sam. Awesome party!" shouted a girl I didn't know. I could barely hear her over the music, even though she was obviously yelling as loud as she could.

"Thanks!" I yelled back.

"So how long do you think it'll be till someone calls the police?" asked Connor into my ear. This wasn't the first party Connor and I had attended together, we usually ended up making out on the couch.

"2 hours, give or take." I said just before the music got turned up even more. The music had gone from ear splitting to deafening. This is exactly how I've spent my high school career, wild party after wild party.

"I'll be back." said Connor, getting up.

"Hey." said Carter, taking the seat that Connor had just abandoned.

"Hey." I said, emotionless.

"Let's take a walk." Carter said, randomly.

"Umm...... okay." I said, kind of confused. Carter loved parties almost as much as I did, which was a lot, so he usually didn't just leave, but tonight was different.

~Connor~

"Hi, Peyton." I said walking up behind her.

"Oh, hi." she said.

"Can I talk to you?" I asked. Her only response was a shrug, and that was invitation enough. "Follow me." I said, leading her into the kitchen which was completely empty.

"What do you want, Connor?" she said, in an annoyed tone.

"Does seeing me with Sam make you jealous?" I asked. She was obviously very confused. Well, who wouldn't be? Her ex was asking her if seeing him with his current girlfriend made her jealous.

"Umm...... I can't believe I'm saying this but yeah, it does." I was ecstatic when she said this. The only reason I dumped her in the first place was because my grandpa was dying of cancer and I really didn't want her to see me like that. Hopefully, she'd take me back.
