Skater Girl Ch. 3

~Sam~

"Sam, you look great!" said Audrey admiring my reflection in the mirror. Audrey and I are complete and total opposites. See, I'm a typical skater girl and Audrey is a typical preppy. We fight a lot, but we always make up. When Audrey heard that I was going on a date with Connor she went insane and bugged me to let her pick out my outfit, do my hair, and my make-up. I agreed if for no other reason but to shut her up. Now she had me in a mini skirt and a halter top, she curled my hair for like an hour, and (after half an hour of trying to get me to stay still) she put lip gloss on me. I looked like Barbie with black hair and I was really hoping that Connor wouldn’t show.

"No, I really don't. I seriously look like Barbie! Why couldn't I wear my own clothes?" I whined for the 50th time.

"Because, if you're going on a date with Connor Thompson you have to look hot." she said while putting even more cover-up on a bruise I got while skateboarding.

"I don't even like Connor!" I shouted. "I like Carter!" Why couldn't people realize that just because a person is popular doesn't mean he's smart, funny, or interesting in the least.

"I know, I know." she said trying to calm me down. "It's just he's got a girlfriend and maybe he'll get jealous when he see's you with Connor and he'll break up with Jada."

"When will he see me with Connor? It's not like I'm going to be his girlfriend." I said then realized that that's what Audrey wanted. "Oh my God. Audrey how could you possibly think that Connor and I would start dating?"

"Come on, Sam! You haven't had a boyfriend since Jaden Conley in the seventh grade!" she shouted. I remembered Jaden. He was pretty cool back then, of course now he was emo. We broke up because I found him in a janitor’s closet kissing my ex-best friend Sydney Flynn. They're still dating and going strong, unfortunately

"That's because I have horrible luck with men! Remember Dylan, Trevor, Cole! They were all losers and now I can add Connor to that list." I screamed.

"Well, what if you really like Connor?" she asked in a low voice.

"That is highly unlikely." I said just before the door bell rang and Audrey rushed me into the living room. Audrey got the door and I saw the extremely hot face of Connor Thompson gapping at my appearance, and at the fact that I was wearing a skirt. When he got over that he handed me some roses much to my surprise and was a perfect gentleman.

I won't go into too much detail about how the date went, but I'd be lying if I if I said I didn't have an amazing time. When Connor brought me back he actually walked me to my room to say goodnight.

"So, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" he asked charmingly. I was really starting to like Connor.

"No, actually, I had a great time, thanks." I said smiling up at him. He was like 2 feet taller than me.

"Don't thank me yet." he said bending his head down for a kiss. The funny thing is that I actually let him kiss me, let me just say that Connor is a pretty awesome kisser.

"See you later." he said after the kiss ended. I stood there for a few minutes after he left to collect myself and prepared to tell Audrey everything that had happened and I knew she would freak out like she always did after I went on a date.

~The Next Day~

"Hey Sam. What's up" Carter said walking into my kitchen.

"Hey Carter. My date with Connor Thompson was last night." I said looking up from the burnt pancakes I'd attempted to make.

"How'd it go?" said Carter grabing the Reeses Puffs from the cabinet above the sink. He either didn't care or he was a really good actor.

"It went great. Connor's actually a pretty cool guy. I mean he has bad taste in friends but I really like him." I said honestly.

"Cool." Was all Carter said and I was pretty frustrated with him.

When we got to school Audrey come over to me and started talking so fast I really couldn't understand her.

"Audrey, slow down, breath, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale." I said trying to figure out what she was saying.

"Sam! Connor just said he wanted to talk to you! Go! GO NOW!" she shouted at me.

"Fine." I said as I started walking over to where Connor was standing with his football buddies.

"Hey, what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked when I reached him.

"I wanted to ask you about dinner and a movie." he said, his friends looked seriously shocked and it was kind of funny to watch.

"Sure." I said turning to walk back over to Audrey, Carter, and Jada who had joined them.

"Oh, and one more thing." he said and I turned back around to see what he wanted. I found myself staring into a very muscular chest. I looked up and saw Connors face just before he brought it down to mine and we shared a kiss that was actually better that the one last night and I hadn't thought that was actually possible but it was.
