~Sam~
A week passed before Connor talked to me again. I figured he'd forgotten, but no. He didn't.
"Hey, Sam. Why didn't you call me?" he asked while I was on my way to calculus, sigh.
"Oh... well, one, you have a girlfriend and two I lost your number." I lied, his number was in my back pocket and I really didn't care about hurting Peyton’s feelings.
"Okay, but I wanted to ask you something." he said as we arrived in front of room 211.
"What?" I said, I really wasn't in the mood for some pretty boy jock asking me if he could borrow my notes.
"Will, you go out with me?" he asked. That easily got my attention. Guys like Connor Thompson just didn't ask out girls like me, Sam Gray, it just didn't happen.
"You getting payed or something?" I asked. It was the only relatively logical explanation for a jock asking a skater out. Most people know not to mess with me but Connor and his friends aren't really known for being smart.
"I may not get straight A's but I'm not a total idiot." he said as if reading my mind.
"I think that's arguable." I said, as the bell rang and I was late... again
He rolled his eyes and said. "Just one date, please?" I hated him, he was using these adorable puppy dog eyes that made my heart just melt.
I had to think of a reason to say no, and I got it. "Don't you have a girlfriend?"
"We broke up over the summer." he said smirking.
"Fine," I said just trying to make the conversation end. "one date and this doesn't mean we're dating or anything."
"Of course not." he said, then kissed me on the cheek and walked away once again leaving me in a daze; he seems to do that a lot
~Carter~
"Hey, you um Carter." called a voice behind me.
I turned and saw a person that I really, really didn't like. Connor Thompson the loser jock that has really bad taste in clothes, I mean pretty much all jocks have bad taste in clothes, but this guy takes it to a new level.
"What do you want?" I said making sure my voice was extra rude.
"I wanted to ask you about Sam." I almost choked on the piece of gum I was chewing. Why would this loser want to know about Sam?
"What about Sam?" I asked truly curious. "I thought you had a girlfriend?"
"Peyton and I broke up over the summer, and I asked Sam out and she said yes so-" I cut him.
"Sam agreed to go out with YOU!" I shouted and scared my neighbor’s cat who was napping on a window sill a couple stories up.
"Yeah, didn't she tell you?" he asked.
"NO, NOT REALLY!!!" I shouted even louder.
"Whatever." he shrugged then drove on in his shiny red Porsche.
At first I really didn't know what to do, but decided to go to Sam's house and try to make her realize that she was going on a date with the wrong guy.
~Peyton~
"Honey its okay, he wasn't the One and now you know." Anna said trying to reassure me that Connor breaking up with me was for the better but I wasn't convinced.
"It's not okay, we dated for five years, and don’t I deserve a reasonable explanation?" I asked, before sobbing into my bed
"You so deserve a reasonable explanation, Connor just wasn't worthy of you." Anna said while Liv rubbed my back.
"Miss. Nash." Our butler Nathan said in his British accent that I thought was a total cliché but guests found it extremely entertaining.
"What?" I snapped
"Connor is here and he'd like to speak with you." he said. Those words horrified me. How he come here? How dare he?!
"I got this." said Anna. Ugh, she was such a sweetheart!
~Anna~
"What do you want loser?" I said to Connor who was stiffly sitting on the leather couch.
"You're not Peyton." he pointed out.
"Yeah? Well, Peyton doesn't like to talk to jerks." I said bluntly, it was kind of fun insulting him like this.
"Fine," he said giving up. "just tell her I'm sorry, okay?"
"I bet you already asked another girl out." 'Oops did I just say that out loud?!' I thought. Oh well.
"You know what Anna? That is none of your business, so please, just butt out." he said furiously, then stormed out the door.
'Hmm, sensitive much?' I thought as I headed back to Peyton’s room.
"He's gone." I reported to Peyton who was sitting on her bed looking depressed.
"Good." she said.
