Sirus Unknown
Sirus has no memory of his past and no hope for his future.
Sirus woke up bathed in sweat, arms still quivering from the nightmare. Strangely enough he was unable to remember what it was but his body felt otherwise. After a few moments he sat up and looked around, he was in a small poorly furnished room. The TV, bed and window were the only things keeping him company.Sitting up he noticed "A Christmas Carole" was playing on mute but Sirus noticed no visible door. Nearing the window he saw snow falling from a dark gray sky. Curiously he pressed his hand against the window and instantly knew it was reinforced. He felt no cold coming from the other side and then panic set in.
Hands pressed up against the walls Sirus desperately searched for a way out. He was breathing rapidly wondering if there was a limited supply of oxygen in the room. His thoughts were racing, unsure of how long or why he was in the room he knocked over the T.V. on its stand eagerly continuing his search. Fear griped his heart and hope was rapidly fading, a loud clank jerked him away from his fruitless search. CLANK! CLICK! Two more times each time louder then the last, he turned around and faced the bare wall. A small light emanating from the dark brick gave way to some sort of doorway. It loudly swung open and banged against the wall, the tiny room began to shake and Sirus along with it. A bright light flooded the tiny room and blinded him. Once the shaking subsided he easily made his way out of the room holding his arm up for protection against the blinding light.
Once outside he gave himself a few moments to adjust to the new lighting. A bright chandelier illuminated the hallway he found himself in. Walls barred him on both sides and a sharp right turned awaited him at the end. Curiosity burned within him as he cautiously made his way down. At the end of the turn a staircase led downstairs to a bare living room. Making his way down he laid his eyes on a figure standing near a unlit fireplace. As he closed the distance he noticed it was a woman in a white coat who held a glass of wine. As he came upon the last steps the woman turned and Sirus froze.
Beautiful green eyes stared back at him, the woman had delicate features but her eyes betrayed her physic. Her white coat looked worned out like the rest of the room. They stared at one another for a few minutes not sure of what to do next. The woman took a sip of her wine and gestured for Sirus to sit. Looking to where she gestured he noticed a chair that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He shook his head and faced her again. The woman took a seat in another chair that Sirus failed to notice. She looked up at him and asked.
"You don't want to sit?"
Sirus cleared his throat and answered.
"No. Thank You."
He took a step towards the woman..
"S-Stay where you are." She yelped getting up quickly and spilling her drink. Sirus has barely registered the movement. Coming to a halt he looked at her confused. Anger flushed her face.
"Why have you come out?" She demanded. Sirus was utterly confused.
"I don't understand...why am I here?" he genuinely replied.
The Lady tilted her head as if hearing something very far away but she kept her eyes on him.
"R-Return to your room...." she seemed uneasy and Sirus noticed it. He experimentally took a step forward keeping his eyes on her. She stepped back closer to the fire escape. Sirus continued towards the woman.
"Why am I here, what has happened to me? Why can't I remember!?" The woman continued back and was now in the fire escape. Her appearance changed, she stood her ground and gave a frightening smirk.
"How convenient for you that you don't remember! After all you have done...You will never leave here! You will SUFFER!" Her eyes glowed hatred now and her evil grin spread from ear to ear. Sirus was close now and he reached out to the fire place. A terrible and deadly spark flashed and he was sent flying towards the opposite end of the living room. She laughed deeply watching his body bash against the brick wall.
"I don't know how or why you have come out now but it doesn't matter. We built this especially for you there is no escape!" Sirus was barely conscious but he tried to sit up.
"....why...?" he moaned, sparks still racing through his body.
"What was that? You bastard!?" She hollered
Sirus barely able to sit up screamed out
".....WHY?!" Pain coursed through his throat and he began to black out. She stared back at him baffled by his question.
"WHY? How dare you ask Why! You're the one that came here. YOU'RE THE ONE THAT...." those were the last words Sirus heard.
Sirus woke up in sweat again, the same dream replayed itself. That he was sure but yet again it slipped away before he could recall what it was about. He looked around the room and angered filled his heart. He was confined in the same room he escaped earlier, before that woman had shocked him somehow. "DAMN IT!" he screamed. Furiously he looked around the room for something to hit, something to destroy. He stood up and kicked the tv across towards the window. He thrust the tv stand aside and put his hands against the brick wall that had somehow opened for him earlier. His anger began building inside him like a raging bull locked up in a cage. The tv sparked and died out and the window began to crack at different points.
Unaware of this Sirus continued to push the door getting all the more frustrated when it did not budge. He screamed at the top of his lungs. Clinks and clanks began to echo from the other side of the door. With a horrible screech the door was pushed aside like a rag doll and it clattered and banged against the wall. The whole place seemed to shake, from the walls to the bed and everything except Sirus was trying to hold on to dear life. As he walked down the hallway the chandelier shattered and fell away from his presence. He rushed down the stairs straight to the fire place that held the freedom his heart screamed for. Taking no caution he walked straight up to it and stepped through it. He met some resistance by some invisible force. He screamed in fury and pain, putting all his weight and pent up rage against his invisible foe. Sparks gave out and something shattered. Bits of debri rained down on Sirus but he continued forward.
He found himself in a deserted room. Instruments of some kind or other were scattered around the entire room. Cabinets and black computer screens filled up the otherwise empty room. He located a door and made his way out. Passing the door he made out and headed towards the signs marking "Exit". Once he was outside his anger subsided and pure dread entered his mind. Sirens wailed but none of it mattered, surrounding him were rubles of debris that were what he thought once buildings. Contrary to the small window he looked out of earlier there was no snow here. The few buildings still standing were crumbling. Looking back he knew now that what he thought was snow was truly the prison like building he escaped from crumbling in on itself. He began his trek towards the remains of what was once a city.
