Siren's Call

Sunset. At the beach. Poetry. Wine. Wind. Waves. What more would a woman need?
As hot as the sky
On a summer day
I burn.
Like parched earth
For the rains
To you I turn.

You are the sun
To my moon,
The dawn
To my dusk –
Far from you
I am adrift,
Just a numb
Empty husk.

I wait for you,
Like beach sand
For the waves;
As steadfast
As the mountains
My love
For you awaits.

Come to me.
Let me thaw
Your winter
And put summer
In your heart.
I will calm
Your restlessness
And soothe away
Your hurt.

Together
Let us burn
Like tinder
To the flame.
Hand in hand
Let us reach
For the heavens
Without shame.

Come –
Fill me,
And I will ease
Your yearning.
