Sinister World

About two defective friends....
Sinister World
This was another blow from bad and hard luck.
It was sunset and not earned was a single buck.
That was the fourth day at a stretch.
Famished and starved, it was impossible to move an inch.
On that bench was a stale bread slice.
Before it could be reached, snatched was the food by the mice.
May be those tiny rodents’ hunger was greater?
Bandaged fingers and toes couldn’t move any faster.
The disfigured face wouldn’t let anyone to come near.
Empty stomach threw the sleep very far….
Sun rays started to peep and so also the fear!
The not so strong heart and whole body began to shiver.
Vision grew weak and gave way to darkness.
The fall was averted by a hand filled with kindness.
Dry mouth turned moist with a sip of water.
Fed were a few morsels which made to feel better.
Regaining consciousness, eyes searched for that savior.
Who had the big and courageous heart to help this leper?
That was none other than the lost and found friend, the eunuch!
By obscene actions and vulgarity, this accursed soul earned each buck!
On the gender of this community, god couldn’t decide upon!
His indecision made them an object of pathetic fun?!
Both friends are the most despised in the outcastes’ "institute".
‘Self proclaimed’ guardians of society have denied space for these destitute.
May be the friends’ disease and defect are incurable and uncorrectable?
But this heartless attitude of society is indeed despicable.
The duo expected nothing better from this world, that sinister.
Hand in hand, the friends walked with mouth full of laughter.
