Singapore will be hosting the Formula One in Sept 2008. F1 tickets are available on sale now for various locations for the race. Singapore will host the Formula One Grand Prix for five years. A leg of the Grand Prix circuit will be held at night, the first for the 60 year old F1 history.
Many F1 fans are thrilled by event that F1 tickets are sold out so quickly that the main booking site crashed within a few hours of the tickets launch. Who can resist the scarlet Ferraris, the sparkling yellow Renaults and gleaming silver Mclarens. These mean machines will power around a 5.2 kilometres circuit downtown around Singapore landmarks like the Cityhall and Marina Bay.
F1 tickets are available for the entire race route. Fans are able to watch Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikonnen in this break neck speed racing from the Esplanade to Singapore Flyer. The 5.2 Km route is designed by German Hermann Tilke which will circulate around the skyscrapers, old colonial buildings and the Marina Bay Waterfront.
About 15000 fans with F1 tickets are expected to be seated around the pit area. The pit area is under the Benjamin Sheares Bridge which is parallel to the shoreline. F1 drivers will be racing down two new roads along the Republic Boulevard. Down the new roads, the race cars will turn left near the Singapore Flyer, then left towards the sitting gallery in front of the Marina Bay pontoon and return to Raffles Avenue. Holders of F1 tickets can enjoy the spectacular race and deafening engine noise in this area.
After the Esplanade, the circuit makes a left turn into Esplanade Drive, then to Anderson Bridge, zoom past Singapore Cricket Club and then turns right into City Hall. F1 tickets are also available for viewing gallery along the Esplanade Drive. There are four lanes at St Andrews Road so spectators can catch F1 drivers cut each other here. There would be about 25000 F1 tickets holders in this area, where one can experience all the high adrenaline and high speed overtaking here.
Going past the Padang and old High Court and then past the St Andrew's Cathedral, drivers then turn right at the Singapore Recreation Club. Then moving onto Stamford Road before turning left at the War Memorial Park, the route turns right into Raffles Boulevard towards Suntec City. After that the F1 race continues along Marina Square and Ritz Carlton Millenia Hotel. The drivers will then make a turn towards Republic Boulevard and then back to the finish point to greet the F1 ticket holders.
