Fruit Smoothie
Ingredients
- Plain yogurt, 1 cup
- Fresh chopped strawberries, ½ cup
- Vanilla, ¼ tsp
- Ice cubes, 2
- Raisins, 6-7
In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour in a glass and serve chilled.
Pizza Hotdogs
Ingredients
- Hot dog buns, 4
- Hotdogs, 4
- Pizza sauce, 1 jar
- Mozzarella cheese, 12 slices
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Split buns and hotdogs lengthwise. Place the slit buns on a flat plate, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over them. Place split hot dog on each bun and spread pizza sauce over the hotdogs with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Place the hotdogs on a pan and broil until cheese begins to melt.
Fresh Veggie Pizza
Ingredients
- Ready-made pizza crust, 1
- Sour cream, 1 cup
- Softened cream cheese, 8 ounces
- Chopped finely raw assorted vegetables, 2 cups
- Dressing mix, 1 tbsp
Bake the pizza crust in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees, until lightly browned and crisp. In a bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sour cream and dressing mix. Spread this on the crust and top with mixed vegetables. Bake pizza once again in the oven, until vegetables brown very lightly.
Chicken Tossed with Bow Tie Pasta
Ingredients
- Chopped chicken breast fillets, 2
- Bow tie pasta, 1 package
- Chicken stock, ¾ cup
- Cream, ½ cup
- Cornstarch, 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice, ¼ cup
- Grated lemon rind, ¼ tsp
- Olive oil, 1 tbsp
- Soy sauce, 1 tbsp
- Sugar, ¼ tsp
- Garlic, 1 clove
- Finely chopped parsley, 4 sprigs
This is one of the most simple recipes for kids dinner. In a large wok, heat oil and add chicken, stir frying until tender. Remove from pan and set aside. In a large pot, bring water to boil, and cook pasta until tender, yet firm. Mix together chicken stock, cream, sugar, soy sauce, lemon rind and juice in a small bowl. Add cornstarch and combine it well. In the same pan, lightly brown minced garlic, and pour in the chicken stock and cream mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer, until thickens. Spoon in the chicken pieces and pasta, mix it well and add chopped parsley and serve hot with bread.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- Flour, 1¾ cup
- Chocolate chips, 3 cups
- Brown sugar, ½ cup
- Shortening, ½ cup
- Egg, 1
- Sour cream, ½ cup
- Vanilla, 1½ tsp
- Chopped walnuts, ½ cup
- Salt, ½ tsp
- Baking powder, ½ tsp
- Baking soda, ½ tsp
Cream sugar and shortening in a large bowl. Add egg, sour cream and vanilla, and beat well. Melt half of the chocolate chips over a double boiler, and pour it the cream mix. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda, and spoon it in the creamed mixture, blending until smooth. Fold in nuts and remaining chocolate chips and refrigerate dough for half an hour. Roll them out in the size and shape you want, and place them on the cookie sheet. Bake in a moderately hot oven, until slightly soft in the center and crisp.
