Silk Flowers Arrangement

Flowers, the mere mention of this word, brings to mind large fields of myriad hues with birds and bees hovering over the flowers collecting pollen. It does not end here, because the breeze that cannot wait also visits the field to blow through the flowers, spreading the natural aroma all around.

Now that you know the benefits of silk flowers, here are some silk floral arrangements for you to try out at home:

Free Standing Arrangement

• Fill a shallow container with foam extending one inch over the top.
• Use hot glue, floral clay or floral tape to secure the foam.
• Next, define the shape of the design with leaves and line flowers.
• Place the leaves and focal flowers and turn the vase as you go round the sides to ensure that the sides are all even.
• To complete the design, use filler flowers.

Horizontal Arrangement

You will need to use a relatively shallow container for this flower arrangement.

• Take some foam and anchor it with a lot of glue or anchor pins.
• Position sprays of line flowers to make a design.
• Insert the focal flowers in the middle so that they gently droop over the lid of the container on both the sides.
• Now reach towards the line material and extend on either side of the middle. Remember to leave room for the filler flowers.
• Once that is done, fill in and around the focal area with filler flowers and foliage.

Vertical Arrangement

• Use hot glue to wedge or secure foam in a vase.
• Then cut the stems of the tallest flowers or leaves to reach three or four times the height of the vase.
• Now place the focal flowers vertically with the diameter of the vase.
• With that done, fill in the empty areas with filler flowers.

Triangular Arrangement

• First secure foam and then determine the vertical height and horizontal width with the smallest line flowers or leaves.
• Take care to make the height higher than the width.
• Place the largest focal flowers in the heart of the arrangement and slightly lower in order to give balance and weight.
• Fill in the gaps with filler flowers and foliage taking care that the triangular shape is retained.

Crescent Arrangement

• First secure foam in a container.
• Next determine the length of the crescent and insert curved line flowers or leaves to follow the crescent form.
• Now angle the shape to balance in the container.
• Insert the focal flowers a little low in the bowl in order to achieve stability, balance and depth.
• Use smaller flowers and foliage to fill the space around the focal flowers. Flowers that taper over will enhance the look.

Oval Arrangement

• First of all secure foam and then determine the height with line flowers.
• Once that is done, frame in the outer edges of the oval shape with light colored foliage and flowers.
• In the focal area, place the brightest, strongest and largest flowers.
• Use filler flowers to fill in around the larger leaves and flowers.
