Silent Goodbyes

As I sit alone tonight,
staring at the stars so bright...
I think of you.
I miss you more and more each day,
I often wonder as to why,
you had to go away.
I wish so bad you could of stayed,
just one more day.
So, I could tell you how much I love you...
how sorry I am for all the hurtful words,
how much I long for your touch.
I would tell you that you were my world,
that you made me feel like no other.
I never knew anyone quite like you.
You brought out so much in me,
You opened my eyes so I could see true love
and passion....
Something, I had never felt before.
You told me you would love me forever,
But, that was just a lie.
One day, just like the birds, you flew away.
You never said goodbye, you turned your back,
and walked away.
You and I, were different, this I know.
I guess though, that is why I loved you so.
You broke my heart that’s a fact,
I will always wonder why....
I think you were scared of me,
and what true love can really be.
You are gone, but I think of you all the time.
And pray, that you are happy where ever you are.
You will always have a special place in my heart.
Once inside there, you can never really part.
