  • Average weight of Siberian tiger is 400 to 650 pounds. Its height is 3 to 3½ feet from the shoulders and they are approximately 10 to 12 feet in length. The females are smaller in height and length compared to the males.
  • They need a minimum of 20 pounds of meat daily, but can eat 100 pounds in one sitting. A fully built Siberian tiger can have about 200 pounds of meat in a day and can stay for 1 week without any food.
  • They have a great speed, they can reach 50 mph but they can run for only a short time. This is the reason why, on an average, only one out of their ten attempts is successful.
  • They have a night vision six times better than the humans. Apart from this they have a highly developed hearing and smelling sense.
  • The high frequency roar of this tiger can be heard till 1 mile and a low frequency roar of this creature cannot be heard by the human ears.
  • These tigers mark their territory of about 4000 square miles as they have very less chances of getting food.
  • They feed mainly on sheep, deer, goats, etc. They sometimes also attack bears, specially the brown bears if they do not get anything to feed on. They do not feed on humans.
