Shyness
Poetry cycle – My Teenage Years...Poetry I wrote in high school. Sometimes we can be so painfully shy..
And stood looking for him.
At last I saw him standing there
But only on the inside did I cry out,
"I’m here, I’m here!"
I knew I’d never go near him
He smiled at me
But I gazed downward.
And only on the inside
Did I start to cry.
I walked back into the shadows
Silently so no one would know.
I kept looking at him,
But only on the inside I said, "Hello."
