Should You Trust Review on Websites Regarding Apartment Communities

This article outlines what sites like Apartment Ratings do for the customer. Can we trust what is being written?
Many of our customers are always trying to get reviews on apartment communities that are reliable. There is substantial information reviewing many apartment communities in Houston. That is a fact. However, everyone should be cautious in regards to what they read, and if they believe it to be factual or not.

Apartment Ratings is a very popular website that provides reviews detailing tens of thousands of apartments around the country and in Houston, Texas too. Many of our potential customers will contact us, and start citing what they dislike about many of the apartment properties we suggest. They base much of their information after reading comments and posts on websites that review apartment s such as Apartment Ratings. Our first question is "May we ask why you think this to be true". Our next question is "How do you know this to be true". They usually respond with "Apartment Ratings" and "because they say so".

The point is everyone needs to be cautious when they start reading reviews about specific apartment homes on the Internet. In order to post a review, all one needs is a valid email address and some time to write a few sentences. Once the user has registered, they can post reviews recklessly. But that is not to say that all the reviews are wrong. However, the majority are negative. That raises a key point. Why are the majority of all the reviews negative?

In addition, one should read the reviews as if they apply to them. Many of the registered users who do post a review, will write about many topics. Comments can range from thin walls, late night parties, unhelpful management, traffic around the complex, train noises, etc. The comments will also have a date in which they were posted. There are a few key points to keep in mind. Check and see how many units the complex has. If there are 300 units and 3 comments have been made in one year, is that a bad thing? How many reviews have been posted? Are there similar negative comments for the same apartment community? Ask yourself if the apartment should be responsible for the comments that have been posted.

When it comes down to it the single best way to check out a property to see if it fits your criteria is to visit the community. Ask the manager and leasing agents questions that are of a concern to you. Ask them if they mind if you question some of their current tenants? Hopefully this will help you in regards to your apartment search.
