Short Guide to a Mini Refrigerator with Freezer

A mini refrigerator with freezer is a type of small fridge that has extra freezing space for ice and frozen meals.
If you are in need of a second fridge for the garage, den or dorm room then the new mini refrigerators with freezer can be a great choice for you to look into. With them you get a small footprint so there is minimal physical impact in the room and you get a fairly large amount of cooling capacity for beverages. With the addition of a freezer you get the ability to store ice cubes or frozen TV style dinners. And if you are using this in a dorm room you are in great shape because there is more than enough room to store the beverages and the food product that a typical college student would use for half a week or more.

You can typically store a case of drink cans, some half gallons or two-liter bottles and miscellaneous food stuff in the refrigerator section. You can also place inside enough frozen dinners to get by for close to a week without being too cramped by the size. This all fits in a small size that is not much larger than an average office file cabinet so it works out nicely in most areas.

Of course, you will not get the convenience features like a water dispenser or automatic ice maker but you are also not going to be spending the amount of money you would on a unit that has all of those things. A mini refrigerator with a freezer would typically cost you well under 300 dollars, while an entry level full sized fridge with Ice maker and water unit would be closer to 1000 dollars.

When you look at the fact that any well developed adult can typically move an empty mini fridge as opposed to needing a two wheel trolley to move an empty full sized fridge, it is easy to see how small fridges are becoming more popular than ever these days. You can purchase one of these mini units and bring it home in an open trunk on most standard cars, while the full sized units require at least a small pick up truck to move.

There are, as you can see, a lot of compelling reasons to get one of these as a second fridge if you are a student or a bachelor. It might even make sense to get one as your main unit for a while since most bachelors tend to eat out a lot and just use the smaller unit to store some frozen dinners, the beer and soda for the week.

There is still a need for full sized units but there is equal need for the smaller units - most families can find a reason to have one of each coexisting in the home. In fact if you are an active family, even having two of the smaller units is not out of the question especially when the cost factor is considered.
