Shoes that Count the Steps You Take

There are now running shoes out there that act like pedometer watches. They have computer chips in them that track every step you take and then send that data to your computer or iPod.
Have you ever heard that song by the Police that goes something like: "Every breath you take, every step you take, I’ll be watching you?" Well, now Nike has come out with a type of shoe that actually does watch every step you take.

You can buy these specially designed running shoes for your exercise routine and then install a computer chip implant in the heels of them. That computer chip will then automatically track and store all of the steps you take and transfer the data to your iPod or iPhone and you’ll be able to see just how many miles you ran or walked and for how long.

Companies involved in health and fitness equipment are trying their hardest to find ways to motivate buyers into getting in shape and these pedometer track running shoes are just another trial method. You can get the same results by going out and buying yourself a pedometer watch and you won’t have to spend as much money as you will on these shoes but it will require you to remember to wear and turn on your pedometer watch manually.

Another problem with pedometer watches as opposed to just having these chip lined shoes is that the data is not necessarily stored automatically. These shoes send the data through the airwaves over to your iPod and you can retrieve it during your work out or after. But with a pedometer watch that data is stored in the watch and might not be available for very long after your initial run.

You have to develop a method or a spreadsheet to manually input the data that the pedometer watch collects so that you can track your progress.

Computer programs are taking all of the manual labor out of work outs these days. Its now possible to automate the entire process and boil the work out down to just you going out there and moving.

You can find video games like the WiiFit that will track your progress over time or you can simple slap on some new kicks and start running to find that your iPod tells you the distance through the music every few miles.
